Nostrana has been on my list for a while. What a lovely experience. It's that elegant, thoughtful neighborhood place—a quiet achiever with plenty of awards. From the bread and olive oil to the wine pairings and pasta, everything was delightful. The Strozzapreti beef and pork ragù was a perfect balance of meat, sauce, and pasta—all coming together with beautiful texture and flavor. Great pairing with the Chianti Classico Castell'In Villa, 2019. Dessert (often something we skip) was a treat: My husband went with the Riesling 'Noble Rot,' Martin Woods, 2021—amazing. Service was welcoming and friendly. Thank you, Jesse, for taking care of us. Great atmosphere with elevated interior design. Warm wood tones. Sculptural overhead lighting. Special attention to detail creates a warm and inviting dining experience. Can't wait to visit Nostrana again.

This was our first time visiting and we were pleasantly surprised with how much we loved it. Our food was delicious, and they were going gnocchi thursday so we tried a gnocchi dish. They were little bites a pillowy soft goodness. Highly recommend. The wine list was very extensive, both by the bottle and by the glass. The atmosphere and the decor in the restaurant was beautiful, festive for the holidays, but also felt very intimate. We loved it and will be telling our friends and definitely returning.

First off this restaurant has the kindest and most polite staff I've encountered in Portland. Everyone also is working as a team and you can tell everyone looks like they are enjoying their job. The restaurant is nicely decorated I love the vintage Italian decor. The food was amazing. I'm excited to go back try desert and more cocktails. The pizza I had was incredible and delicious. I'm still thinking about it and am excited to eat my leftovers today.

Great place, comfort food freshly made with top ingredients and a good assortment of dishes to choose from with an Italien inspiration. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere is great, with an open Kitchen, plenty of seating and the decor gives of a warm, comfortable vibe.

Four of us had a pleasant dinner with good food and service. The downer came with the check. A surprise mandatory 22% service charge, plus language encouraging us to tip on top of the service charge. Very deceptive. We won't go back.

Horrible food. I just finished dinner at Nostrana and had the lam. It was pounded to 1/8” and gray. The polenta was as gummy and stuck to the plate. My hi said had gnocchi which was excellent. My recommendation is stick to the pasta. We are now headed to fast food as my dinner was inedible. Disappointing.

Absolutely amazing Italian Wine list. And the Pizza is to die for. The thin crust is remarkably delicious. Also sitting at the high tops outdoors was most enjoyable!

Our group of 6 arrived a little bit before our 7:15 pm reservation time, so we checked in and wandered through their large garden just across the street. Great space and they definitely pop over to harvest stuff for the kitchen. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, especially the bar area. Great light fixtures and furnishing. It is a bit loud with a lot of chatters We got a variety of menu items: Margherita pizza to share along with the Nostrana salad with radicchio, parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing. Steak, rigatoni pasta with calamari, roasted half chicken, and spaghetti. Everyone was happy with the meal selected. Portion size adequate. For dessert, the fruit crisp that requires 20 minutes to make was delicious. Gelato was very nice. The group also got some very nice cocktails and red wines. The group waited about 25 minutes before we could be seated, for that they brought a serving of bread and butter. We asked our server to put the pizza on our bill, but in the end, she brought one bill with the automatic 22% gratuity already included. Initially we thought it is because of the 6 people, however, after reading several reviews, that is their standard practice. This is definitely a pricey dinner outing.

My previous experience at Nostrana was during COVID…eat outside, disposable utensils, no service, etc. On top of the obvious restrictions the food was just ehhhhh. This was my first time returning since that overpriced mediocre gastronomic experience and I left even less impressed. There are far better Italian choices in Portland than this hype driven overpriced venue. The highlights were the Roasted Kalettes (basically the same as roasted broccolini served at various restaurants) and the Insalata Nostrana (radicchio and parmesan). Both were yummy. The meatball pizza was OK but nothing special. The Radiatori (beef and pork ragu with tomato, red wine, fennel, leek, parmesan, and parsley) was a huge disappointment. This was a generous portion of bland pasta with very little protein…I mean VERY little…and no indication of tomato…NONE. I have to doubt there was even red wine in the dish. Skip the cocktails on the menu. The Sous Vide Pear Old Fashion tasted like watered down pear juice with a hint of whiskey served with attitude. And I love a good Old Fashion. This one gets a “zero”. You can risk it and judge for yourself but there will be no returning for me.
