Copyright & DMCA Policy

If you own the copyright to material that appears on OpenPizzaMap without your permission, send a written notice to our copyright contact (below). Under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), a valid notice must include all of the following:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed (e.g., a link to the original, or a description of it).
3. Identification of the infringing material and enough detail for us to find it, ideally the exact OpenPizzaMap URL (e.g., https://openpizzamap.com/place/123/...).
4. Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Knowingly sending a false takedown notice can make you liable for damages under DMCA § 512(f). If you’re unsure whether something is actually infringing (fair use, public facts, your own listing’s public data), get legal advice before filing.

• We acknowledge valid notices and act on them promptly, usually by removing or disabling the reported material.
• Where we can, we let the person who submitted the material know it was removed and why, so they can file a counter-notice if they disagree.
• We keep a record of notices we receive.

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice. A valid counter-notice must include:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal (the URL).
3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
4. Your name, mailing address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live (or, if outside the U.S., where OpenPizzaMap may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant tells us they’ve filed a court action to keep it down.
