Community guidelines
OpenPizzaMap is a community-built guide to pizzerias. Every review affects the rating of a real business, so all contributions must follow these guidelines. Negative reviews are welcome as long as they are honest and based on your own experience.
1. Ate it? Rate it
Reviews must be based on an actual visit. Describe what you ordered, when you went and what you thought of it. You may comment on public events involving the place if you connect them to your own experience. Reviews based only on other people's accounts, news or social media content are not allowed, whether positive or negative.
2. Talk about the pizza, not the person
Criticism should address the food, the service, the venue or the price. Insults, threats and harassment are not allowed, nor are attacks based on origin, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability. Accusations of crimes against identifiable people and the publication of anyone's personal data (phone numbers, addresses or other private information) are also not allowed.
3. Be yourself, once
Each person may hold one account. Impersonating another person, another user or a business is not allowed. Using additional accounts to review a place more than once, promote your own business or harm a competitor is also not allowed. Owners and employees should not review their own establishment.
4. No spam or ads
Promotions, links to other businesses, copied text and fake votes are not allowed. Photos must show the place being reviewed: its pizza, oven, dining room or storefront.
What happens if a review breaks a rule
We hide the review from the place page and from your public profile, and it no longer counts toward the rating. We notify you of the guideline that was broken. Negative reviews from recently created accounts may take up to a day to appear while they are checked. A first breach results in a warning. Repeated or deliberate breaches may lead to the account being closed.
Think we got it wrong?
Email hello@openpizzamap.com with the name of the place and the date of your visit. If we confirm the review follows the guidelines, we will publish it again.
