Anthony Bourdain romanticized Minneapolis, calling it a melting pot of culture that can be seen in its culinary fight for independence. Tucked in a hip neighborhood with cottage lined streets is Korean owned and operated, @pizzerialola Appropriately named after the owner's dog. For the past 15 years they have been burning wood to cook the best Italian style pizza I have ever had. If you sit at the bar you can watch it cook and see how smoothly the kitchen operates while they prep the pizza. Have you ever heard of sea salt and olive oil on ice cream? Me neither, but they make the soft serve in house and use a quality oil. The flavor blends together in a way you will never forget. I INSIST that you try this. If you ask me it's like you dropped New York City in the Midwest. A sprawling landscape of tightly packed neighborhoods making up the greater twin City area. People's influences from all over the world come together in an under-appreciated city.

First time visiting. Wendy for the Korean infused pizza options. We ordered 4 different pizzas and all were great! ...but apparently only took pics of 3. Roasted cauliflower as our approach was perfect with some spice. This place has been on our list of places to visit and was so glad we did! Cute place and cozy atmosphere.

The My Sha-Roni! Pizza was definitely our favorite. Pizza Lola seems like a higher end Punch Pizza. The quality of the ingredients and the amount of topping you get at Pizza Lola was amazing.

The Korean BBQ pizza was bomb, seems like there was some kind of gochujang dressing on the arugula on top. So good! Pizza was a little expensive for the size though. Did not like the Chocolate budino. It had a texture that was way too thick and the dessert was pretty bitter from the chocolate and needed more sugar

Loved every minute of our time in Minnie especially going to pizzeria lola. My kid loved everything there and we wanted to try so many things. Got some great history of the restaurant from the server. Great visit, will likely return next time we are in town.

We are from out of town and often come directly to this place when we get in to town and have for years now! We have always loved the vibe and service and get excited to go there. The food always has been good. Today when we arrived into Minneapolis we called and asked if we could book a table for 4 for in half of a hour. The gentleman on the phone sounded pretty dismissive and told us they were booked and wouldn’t take a reservation but we had a good chance if came to get in so we drove out of way to take the chance. When we arrived there were three tables taken so we got in right away. Today we left and things were different. Staff stood around and barely checked in on tables. No warm welcome or goodbye, food was mediocre. The waitress told us that she would tell us specials but if we wanted more info we would have to ask her for more details, we declined and ordered our usuals. She asked us what we wanted three times because she didn’t write it down and after our food arrived, didn’t come to check on us. We paid our bill and left. As we left we passed four of the waitresses huddled at the door and no one said goodbye. Sorry to say we won’t be back. The juice wasn’t worth the squeeze and with other amazing pizza places in Minni- we will be glad to check them out.

We shared the Korean short rib pizza and it was to die for. The pizzas are on the smallish side—about 12 inches, cut into six pieces. It was enough for us, but if you have a hearty appetite, you’ll want more. Our server brought us a complimentary soft serve vanilla ice cream with an olive oil drizzle and sea salt. It was interesting and good. Service was fast and friendly. Would definitely return.

The pizza was terrible it was dried out with very little sauce. They must hate you and not want you there as the chairs have no cushion at all either. Maybe it was a fluke as the first time I went it was good.

Amazing service and delicious food! We drive from Wisconsin and it was our first night in town. I read the reviews and it sounded awesome. When we arrived, we weren’t sure what to expect. Parking was challenging, but not crazy hard. Very busy on a Saturday night, so we had to wait for a table. We got drinks at the packed bar and they were phenomenal! Crisp sour beer (Indeed Strawberry Fields) and a well made Old Fashioned with the good cherry and a large block ice! Soon our table was ready and we were seated in a cozy table for 2. Our waitress Harriet L. was very attentive and gave us great advice on the great selection. I got the Margherita pizza and my hubby chose the Tavern Pie. Both were fabulous! All the ingredients tasted so fresh! Next time we visit, we are definitely coming back!
