★★★★★ Absolutely sensational, true Italian perfection We had an incredible experience at Stile Napoletano, and it fully deserves every bit of its 5-star reputation. I ordered the Ragù Napoletano (9-hour slow-cooked pork in tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, EVO oil, parmesan and fresh basil) and my wife chose the Capricciosa (San Marzano tomato, cooked ham, mushrooms, artichokes, black olives, mozzarella, basil and EVO oil). We allowed ourselves one bite of each other’s pizza… and immediately regretted it because neither of us wanted to give up another mouthful of our own. This is proper Italian pizza at its absolute best. In a single bite you can taste every individual ingredient at different moments - the freshness of the basil, the softness of the mozzarella, and that incredible slow-cooked pork ragù pulling everything together. All of it sits on the most delicious, perfectly balanced crust and base. Washed down with a Peroni Rossa, the proper Peroni, not the watered-down version you usually find, it couldn’t have been better. To finish, I had the homemade tiramisu and a glass of limoncello, which genuinely transported me back to holidays from my youth in Sorrento and Rome. Outstanding food, authentic flavours, and exceptional value for money. Far greater quality at a lower price than the well-known pizza delivery chains. Cannot recommend highly enough, and absolutely deserving of all the awards it has received. 🍕🇮🇹

We came for the first time today, early evening after reading such great reviews and we weren't disappointed. Simple food done really well! The deep fried Mac & Cheese was amazing and an absoloute must if you eat here, the pizza was light, and the crust was airy. Really delicious. Staff were attentive, small restaurant but great relaxed atmosphere. We will be coming back very soon as the ragu pizza is on my list to try and I need another deep fried Mac & Cheese!

Made an unplanned stop when the place was opening up without a booking, staff were pleasant and accommodating. Pizza was great quality and definitely reminiscent of what we've had in Naples. No zero alcohol beer for the designated driver, but I can overlook that. Would highly recommend to any pizza fans going to Chester.

Myself and my partner went for food last night, it was absolutely unreal food and the service was spot on, all of the waiters/waitresses were so attentive and the atmosphere was really nice. Also really reasonable prices, two starters 2 pizzas, 3 glasses of large wine and 2 diet cokes was mid £60s. Highly highly recommend! We booked a table in advance, I’m not sure if they do walk ins as the restaurant was the only full place in Chester when we had a walk around before the reservation

First time visiting here before the theatre and we will definitely visit again. Wonderful friendly service, cute little restaurant and the pizzas you can tell were made using the finest ingredients. The tomato sauce on the pizza was divine. Thank you so much, my son and I really enjoyed x

A small pizzeria with a nice atmosphere and attentive staff. I had read rave reviews about the pizzas and consequently had high expectations of them. As it turns out, we were really disappointed. Whilst the toppings were tasty and crusts light, the bases were soggy. There are local Italian restaurants that serve pizzas more to our liking and which offer a more extensive menu. We will not be returning.

Brilliant food. Personally I didn't like the restaurant layout or design or ambience, which felt like a student canteen, though I perhaps am not the target market. Ideal for a tasty, rapid refuel when shopping. Not really an occasion restaurant, though this is authentic I suppose!

Visit overview Visited Stile Napoletano in Chester on the 7th of March at 17:00 with friends, with a reservation (you definitely need to book to get a table here). We left feeling very positive about Stile Napoletano overall and glad we’d made the effort to go. Location There isn’t parking directly outside the restaurant, but there are plenty of options around Chester, both free and paid – we used an underground car park. The restaurant sits among other good places to eat, which gives the area a nice sense of competition and quality. At the time of writing, Stile Napoletano has been ranked 13th best pizzeria in Europe, which is impressive and sets expectations high. First impressions and atmosphere When we arrived, we all filed in through the entrance and waited to be seated. This was quick, but there was a woman already sitting inside who told us to close the door because she was cold. We then had to squeeze in to do that and she didn’t say thank you or acknowledge it. If you have the privilege of going out to restaurants and having a good time, don’t be like this guest. Once seated, we were handed menus. They offer a good range of options without feeling overwhelming, a smaller menu usually suggests more focus and better food. The venue itself is very nice and clean, with a fresh vibe reflecting Italian culture: lemons, bottles and awards displayed around the space, and staff in clean uniforms. I don’t really remember any strong music, so if there was, it was low. The restaurant was busy, yet the overall volume was surprisingly calm; we were probably the loudest table. Lighting was pleasant, maybe a little bright for people with sensitive eyes, but it suited the space. Food and drink There were five of us and we all ordered pizzas. I had a Peroni (bottled, served with a glass, which I appreciate) and ordered the dough balls to start. These were excellent – crunchy, cheesy, warm and gooey, covered in parmesan and very moreish. For my main, I chose the special: a burrata and nduja pizza. I can’t recommend this enough if it’s available. The burrata is light, fresh and flavourful, while the nduja adds a gentle, flavour‑forward kick that might read as spicy for anyone more sensitive to heat. This sits on a great base of tomato sauce that isn’t overpowering, with dough that tastes like it’s been made properly and with care. If you want to know how real pizza should taste, feel, look and eat, this is the place. I also tried slices of the Margherita and the ragù pizzas from my friends. The Margherita was a great classic – very authentic and exactly what you want from that style. The ragù was similar to a Margherita but with a rich ragù sauce and strong, savoury meat flavour. Both were excellent, but for me, the burrata nduja special was the standout. I genuinely think they should consider adding it to the full‑time menu. At the same time, you do need to be a bit adventurous and enjoy more premium, bold flavours to fully appreciate it. Service The reason this is a four‑star review rather than five is the service. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either – it was just “service”. When our order was taken, it was efficient but very functional: no interaction, no warmth, just note‑taking. It was the same when the food was delivered – correct and on time, but without much personality. At the end, we split the bill and they were happy to do this for us, which was appreciated and handled smoothly. Some people might prefer this more neutral style of service, and at the end of the day this is a personal experience with individual preferences. My feeling is that the service could be lifted to match the standard of the food, especially for a restaurant serving authentic pizza that has been ranked among the best in Europe. That’s more a business and hospitality perspective than a complaint, but I do think there is room to reflect the quality of the kitchen in the style of service. Value and overall impression The value for money here is outstanding – some of the best I’ve seen for this level of quality. The ingredients taste fresh, the dishes are well executed, and the pricing feels very fair for what you get. I’d recommend ordering a Peroni with your meal; it pairs nicely with the pizza. I would absolutely recommend Stile Napoletano to everyone: families, friends, dates or even solo if you just want to experience it for yourself. If I lived in Chester, I’d be bringing my friends here regularly, just as my friends did for me.
