This was my second visit to Pijja Palace. It’s on Sunset Blvd, and coming from the South Bay it took about 40 minutes, so it’s a place I plan ahead for. The menu is Indian-influenced comfort food—pizza, burgers, bar-style dishes—meant to be shared. We ordered a few items and the onion rings were especially good. The Indian-inspired pizzas were flavorful and filling, with sauces you can add depending on spice level. We also ordered the cheese chili toast, which tasted familiar and worked well with the rest of the menu. Drinks include Indian flavor notes - order the rose lemonade! The server was very friendly, which made the experience easy and relaxed. Parking can be tricky. There’s a small lot in front plus street parking. We made a lunch reservation, and going right when they open is a good strategy if you want to avoid parking stress. I’d go back with friends—pizza and shared plates make it a fun group spot.

I couldn’t believe my tastebuds when I went to this place. For starters, it was packed. My husband made the reservation and we still had to wait 30 mins outside and it was raining, slightly cold; but it was totally worth it. Everyone needs to try this Indian-Italian fusion concoctions, delicious!

Finally made it here. Friendly staff and nice modern interiors. Food is, different. A for effort. The fries were good and the wings too, but the pizza and pasta were just OK. Then I remembered this is billed as a sports bar.

Food didn’t live up to the hype but the service and vibes did. After hearing all the hype from friends and social media, I finally made my way to Pijja Palace for lunch. Obviously we had to try a little bit of everything so we got the Caesar salad, onion rings, cheese pizza with green chutney, and their saffron pasta. Our Caesar had nice crispy fresh lettuce but was a bit over dressed. We loved the toasted crunch over croutons- very creative. The batter on the onions was so thick it completely lost the flavor of the onion. With so much fried breading our mouths were left dry and we missed that classic onion ring crunch. The sweet sauce served with the rings was a nice touch though. The saffron pasta was interesting, love the shape of the pasta chosen but the sauce left me wanting. Finally, our best bite, the pizza. Thin crispy bar crust but a bright and zesty chutney sauce. This was the perfect collaboration of Indian bar food. Food aside, service was exceptional. Host, server, everyone was clearly in lock step. Something you’d expect of a high end restaurant, not a pizza bar. Would pick up a pie to go if I’m ever in the area, but otherwise not something I’m going to drive out of the way for.

As you can see in the reviews, our group had a 9 person reservation that was scheduled well in advance and ultimately rejected due to the “owner’s” policy, seemingly established on the spot, about not asking groups to leave due to a Finals game being on. I have simple questions that normal, reasonable people would ask. Why was our party not notified in advance about this policy? Why did no one call? Why did you allow people to make reservations in the first place? You had ample time to provide a solution for paying customers. You are not the only ones who know how NBA Final scheduling works. The entire experience was unprofessional from the beginning. First- not honoring our reservation. Two- telling us about this insane policy and offering one appetizer of French fries lol (for when we sat down, mind you). Three- telling us that there was nothing to be done about it and not answering why we were not notified ahead of time. Four- their manager making a personal attack by overstepping and trying to tell me that “it would be like coming to your place of work and telling your boss that I want to speak to them about you”. What kind of out of line excuse is that? Are you in my place of work? No, you’re not. There were over 15+ people besides our group with reservations outside who were rejected in lieu of customers who were there for hours upon end, no longer ordering food or drinks, and basically just loitering. If you want to be a sports bar, just be one. Stop trying to act like this place deserves to be called a restaurant. The owners should be ashamed of themselves and embarrassed that they are still in business. If you want your friends to stay and watch sports at your place, do so at your own house. The best part was the audacity to text us 3 hours later saying our table was ready. Thankfully we had a blast at Greekman’s across street which is a far superior restaurant! I’ll stay tuned for the Chat-GPT response from the owner as I’m sure it’s on the way. The level of disrespect they continue to show is unbelievable, do NOT come here. Especially if you have a reservation booked :)

Went to watch some football on a Saturday and eat some good food and drink some beers. After eating a bunch of food and while still ordering beers we were told we HAD to leave. Even though my friend had just gotten his beer and we were still ordering stuff. They had a reservation and we were out. Won’t be back. Food is just ok and beer selection is pretty poor. Definitely a skip and will be one of many LA restaurants that succumb to their own early success. Short term thinkers in a long term business. Have zero sympathy for the restaurant industry.

Opened early 2022 as part of a Comfort Inn in Silver Lake Pijja Palace is most certainly an “Indian Sports Bar,” but instead of Cricket on a single TV and the same Butter Chicken as everyone else the Food from Miles Shorey and owner Avish Naran taps into “fusion” of the best sort. Still one of Los Angeles’ toughest reservations, though the addition of Weekend Lunch has helped walk-ins nab a table if they arrive early, it is seated on stools or banquettes that guests peruse a concise menu of Pizzas, Bar Favorites and Pastas plus creative drinks both virgin and alcoholic. The brainchild of Naran, an LA native who studied restaurant management at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York, Pijja Palace places fans at the center of a dozen or more Televisions and within minutes nearly every table is enjoying Jaggery Tamarind BBQ Wings served with housemade Pickles or cracking slices of Onion fried in Dosa Batter. Served piping hot and aggressively seasoned, both Aloo Tiki Hash Sliders and Chili Garlic Toast not for the timid, service is “cool” but proficient whether filling water or describing why one would might want the hearty Samosa Pijja instead of Chef Shorey’s more famous Green Chutney version. Not forgetting ample portions of Pasta, Malai Rigatoni with smoky Tomato Masala arguably over-Sauced but nonetheless delicious, Kesar Rickshaws eat a lot like Mac n’ Cheese with more depth while Nihari Lamb and Shells finds balance in Sumac Yogurt. Following an embrace of Soft Serve seen from Leopardo to Dana Point’s Truly Pizza, but hear leaning in on the concept with a Rose Water flavor adjacent “Cookies and Cream,” suffice it to say Cardamom makes a big difference in elevating the Ice Cream to something memorable rather than perfunctory.

Worth the wait and much more! Fusion Pizza is the house specialty, but maybe you want to try that on your next visit, because you won’t have room to try the truly delicious “do not miss out” on this pastas. Highly recommend the Malai Rigatoni and the Brinjal Gemelli. What makes these special is you get to enjoy all the unique flavors of the dish without being overpowered by any single spice. Truly breathtaking.
