I wouldn’t call Ronan an Italian restaurant — I’d call it a pizza restaurant, full stop. No pasta here, just Neapolitan-style pies and variety of appetizers. Serious about their Neapolitan style, the pizzas arrive un-sliced, with a knife you may accidentally drop on the floor. They’ll pre-slice if you ask (which is much easier for sharing), which genuinely made me wonder — do they pre-slice pizzas for large tables in Naples, or does everyone just get their own uncut pie? The pizza is very good - dough was perfect, I like it less charred always. The classic Marinara (red) and the Zucca (white) were my favorites — simple, balanced, great flavors. The mushroom arancini were delicious, but a fair warning: you only get three. It’s a small app. One personal breakthrough: blue cheese will never touch my pizza again. Ronan helped me close that door with confidence. I don’t like it. Haha The word for blue cheese is Italian is Gorgonzola, don’t forget it. Pro tip: skip the focaccia if you’re ordering a few pies — save the room for what they do best. Great Neapolitan-style pizza on Melrose.

We were lucky to find a table on opentable on the same day. It is a busy place. The food is very good. Authentic flavours. Nice relaxed ambiance. We got full with just the starters. Had to get pizzas to go :D Nevertheless, enjoyed every bit of it and would definitely recommend if you are in town.

Delicious dishes with unique, standout flavors. We ordered the clams 10/10, absolutely perfect. The tartare was also a 10/10. For pizza, we really enjoyed the white pie. Dessert overall you can skip, but the persimmon ice cream was surprisingly yummy and worth trying.

First time at Ronan, and if I could rate higher than 5 stars, I’d give it a 10. We came here on New Year’s Eve and ordered the focaccia with cultured butter, burrata, and caviar, and it was outstanding. The focaccia was crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, perfectly seasoned, and incredibly aromatic. Paired with the melted cultured butter and burrata—rich but not heavy—the combination was smooth, light, and surprisingly addictive. The burrata was cool and creamy without being overwhelming, and the caviar added a salty, briny depth that elevated the entire dish. Truly exceptional. Next was the chicken with pistachios. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with firm, well-textured meat. The lightly tangy sauce helped cut through the richness, and the greens on top balanced the dish nicely without feeling like filler. We also tried the Sweet Cheeks pizza. This one is subjective, but since I enjoy sweeter flavors, it was perfect for me. The dough was incredibly fragrant, and the cheese ratio was excellent. You can really tell that high-quality, imported ingredients are used and kept true to their original character. The result is a pizza that feels very Italian and refreshingly different from the average American pizza spot. That said, I personally don’t enjoy overly charred crusts for health reasons, and the level of charring was a downside for me—definitely a notable drawback. The service was exceptional. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive. The restaurant is truly lucky to have such a great team. Well deserved as a Michelin Selected 2025 restaurant. I’ll absolutely be coming back—especially for the pizza, hopefully with a little less char next time.

We stopped by Ronan recently while visiting LA and were very happy with our experience! I’m vegan, so dining at non plant-based restaurants can be a bit of a gamble, but they were accommodating which is always appreciated. I ordered the Brooklyn Pizza with garlic and olives added and it was delicious! They don’t have an in-house vegan cheese, but truly it didn’t need it. We also ordered the market cucumbers and they replaced the traditional dairy-based sauce for a vegan vinaigrette. Overall, a great stop and I’d be happy to try it again.

What a fantastic meal this was. It started with the best steak tartare I've ever had. Then my wife and I split the excellent Spicy Chomper pizza and finished with a generous and tasty piece of tiramisu. Our server was Gabrielle and she was friendly, helpful, and quick to get whatever we needed. Also, we went during happy hour and got drinks at a very reasonable price. A memorable meal.

Owned by Caitlin and Daniel Cutler Ronan serves Neapolitan Pizza that eschews tradition in favor of local Produce and Proteins inside an understated space with a patio on Melrose. Opened in 2018 and surviving the pandemic with take-out, 2023 adding Sunday Brunch to nightly Dinner service, it is after eyes adjust to the darkened interior that diners sit in posh booths perusing a menu of inspired plates, Pies, biodynamic Wines and Cocktails. In many ways a neighborhood Pizzeria, assuming the neighborhood is attuned to Wood-Oven Pizzas featuring a bubbly Crust with lots of char and chewiness, New Year’s Eve found Ronan offering Caviar in several styles including as an addition to fluffy Focaccia served piping-hot alongside Cultured Butter. Varying the menu seasonally, Brunch additionally quite different from Dinner, Pizzas arrive coursed out in no less than twenty minutes with Margherita expectedly excellent as a result of imported Tomatoes, Basil an Mozz plus a bit of Pecorino. Also featuring a black marble bar within earshot of the oven, perfect for solo diners or couples wanting to watch Dough stretched and fired, Brunch’s Green Eggs & Ham riffs on Dr. Seuss with Mortadella and Ricotta plus a runny Organic Egg while “A Tuscan Winter” puts locally grown Japanese Persimmons on display amidst a backdrop of local Honey and Squash Blossoms.

The menu is rather limited at Ronan, but what they offer they do well. The pizzas are ambitious and creative and delicious. The carrots are amazing. The offer free bottle s of sparkling water. The service is good and they play great music. When cold the outside is actually warmer than the inside b/c of the enclosed patio w heaters. Prices are reasonable. The cocktails and mocktails look amazing though I did not try the night I went.

My husband is a bona fide pizza snob who grew up in NYC. We love Neopolitan style pizza and this place has got it dialed in. Nice outdoor patio (where we enjoyed our meal) but there is also a nice indoor dining room. Staff were warm, friendly and efficient.

Wow, this was probably the best pizza place ever! We came 2 families with kids, booked a place a day before. We order a few pizzas (Margherita, Brooklyn, Spicy Chomper), all were amazingly good! The wood-fired fucaccia was amazing as well. We will come back for sure!
