Pizza Lovers say: "Pizzas taste close to Naples, with good crust and a Firestone oven. However, they can be pricey and soggy in the middle."

It made me feel emotional seeing all the souvenirs from Naples since I was living there before moving here. Pizza wasn’t as fluffy and as big as we can find in Naples however the taste was so close, the best you can find in iwakuni.

Pretty sure this is the only place around with Firestone oven pizza. They’ve got a nice mix — Margherita, Carbonara, seafood, to name a few — plus a solid wine and drink menu. Prices are a bit steep though, and you can only pay by card if you spend over ¥3000.

The pizzas we tried are really GOOD!. Each pizza is expensive though for just a small size of pizza, which is medium size for Japanese people. And when you walk in, i got a bit confused for a moment if it's a restaurant or a house because there's children on a couple tables close to the cashier. Probably the owner's kids.. nothing is wrong with that but if you want your restaurant to look nice and formal (especially if your restaurant is "Italian") kids should be at home.. just my opinion. I don't mean anything bad. But we're planning to go back to try their other pizzas, maybe some salad and some appetizers too. We loved the wood fired oven! lol. Also, this place is located at a narrow street of a neighborhood which you might think there's no parking for people who have cars, but its parking is just right across the street. No one would know since it looks like just some apartment's parking lot so i was worried at first where to park but i got off the car and asked inside the restaurant and they pointed it out. Glad they have them lol. You all must give this a try especially for pizza lovers! :)

I used the Pizzeria Da Hachi on a Saturday in early autumn, around 12:30 pm. Even if I sleep in, by the time I want to eat pizza I am worried it will be too busy. Actually, when I arrived, there was only one other group at a table. I recommend sleeping in to make sure you can be seated. As for parking, at first it seemed impossible. There is nothing but apartment parking here! Actually, when I look closely I see the cheeky signs with the number eight on them… the whole parking lot is for pizza lovers! Five spots in all. Even a moderately skilled driver will smoothly park the car. Walk in the entrance. It’s open? The air comes and goes, giving a fresh autumn feel. As the wind tugs at my hair the owner asks how many it is and directs you to the table. The impressive oven is enjoyable to look at and smells like burning wood. The restaurant feels relaxed, like a home. The owner’s kids are drawing at one of the tables. When I look at the menu, I am surprised it says ordering a drink is required! For customers who are not thirsty the requirement is a quite… well, it may increase the pressure! As for me, we saw the blood orange and thought it was a soda. I was surprised when I saw it is a juice. Actually, juice is preferred with its sour flavour. As for pizza, my wife ordered a プルチネッラ. When I asked her how she liked it she said “It’s good. The flavour balances very well.” I looked for pizza without cheese. There are two. シチリアーナ is what I tried first. The dough is crispy to the teeth, but chewy as well, and gives just the right resistance when cutting each bite with the knife! The sauce is fruit forward, and does not try to hide tomato flavor with oregano, but lets the pure flavor of the fruit shine! The garlic is sweet, and the anchovies swell with flavour. When I brought the fork to my mouth with the last bite, I knew I wanted to have another. Is it unreasonable? My wife encouraged me to be ambitious, and order another pizza. This time it is マリナーラ. I want the tomatoes and the garlic to be the star and the perfect dough the stage they dance on. With every slice of the knife I can feel its chewiness and anticipate the bite. Each bite is a pleasure. The shop is recommended for pizza lovers who know how it should be done correctly; this is a store that can make the true pizza. When I left and thanked the master, in my heart, I knew I want to go back on repeat! Thank you for the meal.

Quick review. Pizza had good crust on the outer portion but was completely soggy in the middle on both pizzas we ordered. The sauce was completely flavorless. Maybe add some oregano? There could have been more cheese on both pizzas we ordered. The antipasto plate is not a good value at all. Weird combination of items. Four very thinly shaved slices of meat for almost 1600 yen? If you are a pizza place, every table should have at least parmesan cheese and and crushed red pepper flake in shaker containers. This place might have a nice wood fired oven but they still need to work at getting the best out of it. The whole experience lacked flavor.

If you're looking for great pizza in Iwakuni then this is the place to go. It's some of the best pizza I've ever had and is made with care and attention to detail by the Mom and Pop duo who own the place. All pizzas are wood fired in a traditional oven and are extremely delicious. I'll be coming here often!

Pizzeria Da Hachi is the real deal. Their pizza's are fantastic. I came here for dinner with my wife since we live nearby and we were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The restaurant itself is small, only room for a couple people but it had a nice atmosphere. They have quite a few pizza selections to choose from, I can't remember what we ordered but we got two different pizzas and they were both really good. I can't wait to come back and try the other varieties. I found the pizzas to be a bit pricy but I noticed pizza in Japan is not cheap no matter where you go. I really liked it and will be back.

Second visit to Hach was not pleasant, the owner actually yelled at me simply saying house wine was not good. I was polite and paid my bill. I decided to give it another shoot a week later, at 6PM in entered the shop and requested a takeaway, to which the owner informed me that he has no pizzas, followed by him coming around the counter to confront me. Incredibly rude and aggressive.

Pizza is pretty good for the area we’re in! It’s a cozy little shop with friendly staff, I drove here and wasn’t entirely sure as to where the parking was or if there was any. For the pizza I ordered a margarita, it was on the table in about 10 min. The sauce was fantastic and the mozzarella was fresh, the crust was crisp throughout.

I lived in Naples, Italy for 3 years and came to love the delicious pizza. I am thrilled to discover the same great taste at Pizzeria Da Hachi! Authentic flavors, great service, and a cozy setting makes for a lovely evening. While more expensive than what I found in Naples, the unique crispy crust, tasty red sauce, and perfectly seasoned sausage makes the price worth it. Good destination for couples, families, and a low-key business meal. Beer and limoncello available, as well. Can’t wait to return!

This restaurant is cozy. Very clean and tge pizza was perfect. I had the Margharita basil and mozzarella. It was perfectly prepared. The crust was crunchy on the bottom and soft in the center. The basil was fresh and wonderful taste. This is near the base within biking distance of downtown or the base. This is a neighborhood restaurant. Other items on the menu include beer and wine. French Fries and other feied veggies. This restaurant is well worth the trip. Very nice family owned.
