  A quick bite on the way to the F1 Exhibition. No problem with being walk-ins, and welcomed warmly while it was pretty busy at midday on Sunday. Comforting Italian fare…really! We ordered the meatballs (3 pieces); croquettes (crocheted di prosciutto) (3pieces) and a very tasty Bella Emilia pizza accompanied by the rucola salad. All worth going back for! A cocktail (Montenegroni) and a Lord Nelson 3 sheets beer topped out our order, that after the application of the weekend surcharge pointed just north of $170 for two. Very easy, very tasty and recommended. Thanks.

  The food came out impressively fast considering how packed the place was, and the waiters were super attentive in ensuring we had clean silverware and full glasses of water amidst the chaos. Very impressive service. My mate ordered the pork with lentils and pesto sauce, and consequently made me jealous of my own order by how good it was. The mock Pina colada was slightly too sweet, but mimicked the real thing overall. This restaurant has a wonderfully regal atmosphere that makes the whole meal feel a little special. Would happily return!

  Five stars all around. I honestly could not fault a thing. We walked in on a busy Saturday night expecting a long wait, but we were seated within fifteen minutes which was such a nice surprise. I ordered the pizza and it was absolutely beautiful. It arrived at the table looking perfect and every bite was full of flavour. The base was cooked just right, the toppings were fresh, and it was simply delicious. For dessert, I got the affogato! So lovely! The service was brilliant as well. Even with the place packed, the staff were friendly, organised and completely on top of everything. All our food came out within about ten minutes which really impressed me considering how busy it was. It is rare to find a place that gets both the food and the service so right, especially on a hectic night, but they truly delivered. The atmosphere was warm, the energy was great and the food was outstanding. I would happily come back again and again.

  Both the pizza and the gnocchi (which was the special of the day) were absolutely delicious. Without a doubt, this was the best meal I’ve had in Melbourne so far — at least for my personal taste! If I have the chance to visit again, I would definitely love to try more dishes from the menu.

  We stopped by Gradi at Crown on Sunday afternoon for a late lunch and were really pleased with the experience. We started with the herb focaccia and the polpette al sugo (meatballs). Delicious! For our mains, we had the guancia di manzo (beef cheek with mash) which was beautifully cooked and well paired with the creamy mash. The pumpkin risotto was also a highlight, smooth and nicely balanced. For dessert, we opted for the lemon sorbet – light, zesty, and a great way to finish. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, an enjoyable lunch with great food and a relaxed atmosphere. Would happily return.

  We booked a table for 12 and had to pay a significant deposit of $500 and knowing it was a business dinner i felt the establishment didnt take that into account and putting us next to the kitchen. Wait staff was extremely attentive which was a plus and the food was good - entrees were all good as well as the sides. For mains had the truffle and the tiramisu is very very good. For the price paid you expect no less than this quality. However as i said disappointed we were given a table next to the kitchen.Read more

  Smart restaurant with good service. Pasta choices (lasagne and rigatoni bolognese) were decent portions but probably should have gone with some side orders to change it up a bit. Desserts were good too. No draught beer, only bottled.Read more

  Nice setting and reasonable service but food is next to nothing. The worst arancini I ever had - very dense and completely tasteless. The fish of the day - barramundi - was hopelessly overcooked. No luck there either with a glass of Piper-Heidsieck champagne - was flat as tap water. My husband was a bit luckier than me - oysters, fries and calamari were good. Still, we decided to go to Nobu for dessert and it was definitely the right decision. The conclusion? $500 for two course meal plus drinks can take you to practically any restaurant in Crown and I would not recommend Gradi as the one.Read more
