The food here was absolutely exceptional! Such a unique range of pizzas, and the tuna steak was outstanding - seared to perfection and extremely tender! Service was a bit slow to begin as they were busy, but once we ordered, everything was quick to arrive. This restaurant was filled only with locals, so I would recommend to anyone wanting a traditional Italian dinner

All of the bars were closed or full nearby, the staff was so lovely and helpful, they allowed us to stay for only a few cocktails and beer!

If you’re looking for an authentic dining experience in Florence, Il Vecchio e il Mare is a hidden gem that checks all the signs of a truly great restaurant. From the moment we stepped in, we noticed that everyone spoke Italian, and there was no English menu in sight—a sure sign of its local authenticity. Their wine list features local wines and Franciacorta, a testament to their commitment to quality. This spot offers not just food but an experience, with a knowledgeable staff proud of their cuisine and the local ingredients they use. The food and service were outstanding, with impeccable attention to detail—even going so far as to make us a salad that wasn’t on the menu. Every dish was a celebration of Italian flavors, crafted with passion and care. If you’re in Florence, don’t miss this place—it’s where you’ll find the soul of Italian cooking!

I loved the pizza and the atmosphere, but I would recommend to make a reservation before you go especially on weekends I went there with no reservations and had to wait 30 mins, people came after me they told them they are fully booked And it was true , the place is crowded, but it’s worth it
