  Just had pizza from Burt’s Place in Morton Grove — and wow, absolutely incredible. Perfectly caramelized crust, gooey cheese, and that classic deep-dish flavor that hits every time. You can tell there’s real passion behind every slice.

  Burts place is a super let down. Does not live up to the hype that's for sure. This review is from my experience before and after Burt. The recipe seems to have stayed the same. Sauce bland, sausage bland, and over cooked every time I've been there. Seems to have tasted the same from the first I went when Burt and his wife served me. I'm giving 2 stars for the upgrade inside and outside that the restaurant desperately needed. The service was slow because they cater to the regulars more than they do to anyone else and made it very obvious. In my opinion, I would choose Milly’s, peqouds and Lefty's kitchen over Burts Place any day! 100 % don't recommend.

  Finally got to try Burt’s Place and it definitely lived up to the hype. The sauce at Pequod’s is still my favorite, but everything else here was excellent. The thicker, buttery pan-style crust and caramelized edges were delicious, and the cheese curds were some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff was great very friendly and attentive which made the experience even better. Service was quick, and everyone made us feel welcome. The patio was also a really nice touch and a perfect spot to enjoy a meal on a nice day. No wonder Anthony Bourdain called this the only deep dish pizza he ever loved. I would definitely go back.

  Stopped in here with my buddy last night and it was phenomenal. Really solid pan pizza, similar style to Pequods in downtown Chicago but I actually think Burt’s was better! Nice crispy crust, good ratio of cheese to sauce and not overloaded with toppings. We also got some cheese curds and the portion was huge for the price point. Definitely worth checking out!

  Wow where do i start ? im a newyorker born & raised that moved to Cleveland Ohio 20 plus yrs ago to Start our family and since then we started visiting Chicago a couple times a year because since my 1st visit i fell in love w the city , everything about it, the people the mixed cultures the food of course ,the land marks , everything about it reminds me of nyc yet you guys have your own pulse & vibe that is nothing like newyork. Truth be told is i learned fast that Newyork pizza & Chicago pizza is not something you can compare ,each city has there signature and they are not the same ,But wow where we blown away last year when we found Burts Place, my wife & I arrived hungry after our 5 hour trip that day so we were happy to be seated quickly and everyone was so friendly and were happy to hear we came just for them, when the owner or manager found out we came for such a long ride and we were headed home after we ate she came and spoke to us for a bit and offered us a place to stay w her for the night since she had a spare room ,we told her thank you and declined but it spoke volumes x 10 of what hospitality is ,not only that when she realized we ordered a peperonni pizza she insisted we try their main special signiture pizza and gave us that one on the house and oh boy they did not dissapoint ,soon i realized that was the best pizza ive ever had in my 49 yrs of life thus far, please dont take that lightly i love all pizza but am very picky to praise anything so for me to say that its because it is truly something special and a 1 of a kind , On that day i found out that theres Chicago Pizza And theres Burts Place The Best Pizza in The World , Thank You from Wil & Nix See You Soon

  My friends and I had a great time at Burt's Place. The heated patio was cozy, the atmosphere was fun and relaxed, and the food was delicious. The pizza was full of flavor, and the appetizers were the perfect start to dinner. Great spot to grab drinks, enjoy good food, and catch up with friends.

  Cozy pizza restaurant in a suburb of Chcago. Indoor and outdoor tables. Thick pan style pizza. Wine and beer, root beer. Side food items. Friendly staff.

  I moved to Chicago in 2007, and ate a _lot_ of pizza since. Tavern, thin crust, deep dish, pan, Detroit style - I didn’t care, I devoured it all. It didn’t take long for Pequod’s to become my favourite pizza in the city. The caramelised cheese on the crust, the generous toppings, and the ever-so-slight spice in the sauce were unmatched. I’d been wanting to check out its spiritual sister joint, Burt’s, and finally got to. Everything I love about Pequod’s is present and correct, but the flavours are improved, and the atmosphere is a little less hectic. It has an edge on Pequod’s for those reasons.

  Burt's carry-out pizza is carefully and completely wrapped in foil. Then slits are cut into the surface of the foil and the entire package is put in a paper wrapper (not a pizza box) which is stapled shut. When you remove it from the packaging at home, the pizza is still hot and not soggy. Kudos, Burt's. There is street parking on both sides of Ferris Avenue. There is usually a quick turnover as customers arrive and leave. I have never had to circle the block to find a space. Taste? The carmelized crust is fabulous. This is a marvelous example of understandably-popular Chicago pan pizza. Please read my earlier review (October 12, 2021) for more details about Burt's.

  Chicago has the best pan pizza in the world for sure, you certainly can't go wrong eating pizza anywhere in chitown. However, there is always a small place that just stands out and does such a fantastic job you almost hate telling everyone and creating lines right. This place is Berts place in Morton Grove. Sit on the patio, have patience and prepare to be wowed! There is nothing like it.

  fabulous pizza!!!!!!! The Latin sign in the dining room translates, "Jews make the best pizza". Burt Katz, pizza maven (1937 - 2016) began with the Inferno in Evanston; started Gulliver's; then he opened Pequod's; and his final business was Burt's Place. The site was home to a blacksmith's shop in the late 1800s. The current building went up in 1912. Eating inside, you'll find rolls of paper towels at the booths; autographed photos of radio personality Chuck Schaden on the walls; and tsatskehs every place you look. The year-round heated patio -- with its outdoor bar --has plenty of room. We passed on the cozy, cluttered dining room and the airy patio and opted to bring our pizza home. It was wrapped in foil and was still warm when we pulled into our driveway half an hour later. Perhaps the secret of this fabulous pizza is the use of the 32-year-old seasoned pizza pans.
