Love Barnabys...There thin crust pizza snappy crunch of the crust is perfect when dining in like any pizza way better dining there in person than having it get soggy /cooler transport home etc. Plus they serve Green River soda pop at the bar, a real treat in Chicago. Went out the norm for me and ordered half pepperoni and half cheese..I am a pizza snob and i actually think this is one of the best thin crust for the north suburb Chicagoland area 100% recommend!

My family lives in Chicago & since I’ve been old enough to remember, we have always made a stop (or three) to Barnaby’s when in town to visit family. I’m now 42 years old. I’m guessing I’ve eaten here 120+ in my life. Every single time, it’s amazing. Weeks before an upcoming trip the excitement & anticipation begins to grow that Barnaby’s Pizza is in my future… Then the fear sets in…what if it’s changed? What if it’s not the same? What if I’m disappointed? What if…? Happy to report that I was back last night & it’s better than it’s ever been. Yet at the same time, it’s the still the same old amazing Barnaby’s!

Soooo I get the nostalgia of coming here for a meal especially for those who grew up coming here. Unfortunately, there’s better cracker crust type pizza out there. A few nights ago, my son I shared a large sausage pizza. The service was great and everyone was friendly. The pizza itself was nothing special. The crusts reminded me of a frozen home run inn pizza which was disappointing. The sausage was ok and the cheese was sparely on there. I did enjoy their bar as they had Schlitz in a bottle! Score! There is plenty of parking lot spaces available. If you want ok pizza come here especially if you an old school 70’s wooden booth type of restaurant.

I’m staying at the Renaissance across the street and needed a quick meal. Barnbay’s totally hit the mark, very reasonable pricing, fast take out, friendly staff and solid food. I had meatball sub and the handmade meatballs were delicious. The salad was fresh with lots of chicken and romaine. I would def eat from here again.

Excellent experience with family and friends. Been trying to get back here for years. Finally made it back last night, and wow ! It was just like I remembered 40+ years ago. Excellent pizza and Italian dishes. We will be back soon. Thanks for keeping the tradition alive!

Barnaby's of Northbrook is a great place to hold a reunion. For four, that is. Four retired sports reporters swapping old war stories. A lot of laughs. Newspaper nostalgia. Located at 960 Skokie Boulevard, next to the Eden Expressway, Barnaby's has been serving pizza, sandwiches, Italian entrees and casual American comfort chow in a low key, counter-serve setting since its founding in 1969. Brass railings, dark wood and table-cloth tables and booths, no servers, order at the cashier. Open from 11 to 10 Monday through Saturday and 11 to 9 on Sunday, Barnaby's is known for its double cheese pizza with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. But, on this occasion, we decided to go a la carte, choose your own. We started with garlic bread, pizza bread, breaded onion rings with mushrooms, potato skins with cheese and bacon, cups of chili, nachos, buffalo wings and pimento cheese on Ritz crackers. For a main course, we chose fish and chips, two pieces of golden brown battered cod with tartar sauce, fries and coleslaw, 21 deep fried gold brown fried shrimp with cocktail sauce, fries and coleslaw, spaghetti with home-made meat sauce and meatballs and baked mostaccioli with home-made meat sauce, baked with mozzarella cheese. Barnaby's has four locations in the Chicago area, two in Indiana and one in Florida.

I hate to say it, but I’m starting to agree with the last few reviews. Something definitely feels like it’s changed as far as the quality of the pizza. I ordered a few half baked. It definitely feels like they’re skimping on the ingredients these days and the pizza just feels smaller or lighter. I’ve been eating Barnaby’s pizzas at many different locations through the years, so I do see the difference.

I have been up and down with this BARNABY'S location for the past year or so. First complaint pertained to a big slump in the quantity and quality of the pizza ingredients plus very spotty preparation. WELL - - - we didn't return for a few months but decided to give them a try again. Our last visit, a few weeks ago was outstanding. Back to the all-around quality that we remember them for. So today the wife had a taste for their pizza. When I picked up the pizza it looked the same as our previous visit. I was momentarily thrilled, until I sat down with our first piece. WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?? The entire taste of the pizza was different and not pleasing. (to our tastes). After a bit of examination, we discovered that one of the prime ingredients was missing. After bringing the problem to the attention of the manager, he agreed that they made an error, and apologized. I asked "Is that all you're going to do about it. I didn't really get a satisfactory reply. I unhappily went back to our table. Then he came out with a discount coupon for another pizza. MALNATIS would have made us another pizza to take home plus discounting our bill. Anyhow, I guess I have to forgive them for the screw-up. Seems to be happening at a number of restaurants these days. BUT THAT WASN'T THE WORST PART!! After sitting at our table for 15 minutes or so, we were paid a visit by our usual friendly "fruit fly". There is always one flying around the place. After shooing him away, I happened to turn my head and discovered a napkin that I had wiped my hands on, was literally infested with fruit flies. At least 15 or 20 crawling around. Then I discovered that two had crawled into my beer glass. Furthermore, after a general glance around, discovered a whole swarm of the creatures flying around the area. THAT WAS IT! We grabbed our belongings and left. It definitely looks like this restaurant has a real problem that the HEALTH DEPARTMENT SHOUD BE MADE AWARE OF. I have to wonder how many of these creatures are crawling around the food preparation areas and getting into the food. After this experience, I doubt if we will be going back any time soon. A shame. We are 25-year customers!
