They’ve been around for over 100 years and are known as one of the best tavern style pizza restaurants in Chicago, and they lived up to the hype! I shared fries and a pizza with mushrooms and green peppers. The fries were crispy but slightly over-salted. The pizza crust is light yet firm which had the perfect tavern style crunch. The cheese had that slightly oily, rich flavor you want without being greasy, and there was just enough sauce. This was the best thin crust pizza I’ve had in the midwest!

Vito and Nicks is all over lists for one of Chicago's best pizza spots. One of the finer cracker crust options Chicagoland has to offer. It's certainly a good pizza, unique cheese blend on top really paired well with the ground sausage. Bottom crust stayed crispy crunchy even down to the last slice. I could see being repeat customers if I lived closer, but this is almost like the middle of nowhere for me. Vito and Nicks deserves recognition for its pizza, It doesn't crack my top 10, but it's probably top 20 or so.

I’ve been wanting to try Vito and Nick’s pizza for a while now. On a recent trip to Chicago, I finally got the chance. The restaurant had a classic old school feel, it felt like walking into a bar from a 90s sitcom! Service was great, pizza was ready on time. The toppings were all very fresh and tasted amazing, very high quality, as was the cheese. The cheese and toppings were both a generous amount. The sauce was excellent, very nicely seasoned and a good amount. The thin crust was cooked perfectly. The pizza had a nice smoky taste to it. Overall an amazing tavern style pizza from a historic icon. If you are in the area or even from away and you get the chance, try out Vito and Nick’s. It’s not every day you get to try pizza from a place that’s been around over 100 years, I’m glad i got to experience it.

In Chicago for the weekend visiting from upstate NY. We stopped by Vito & Nick's on the way in. We had a half cheese and half pepperoni and a sausage. Super thin crust, Good char in the undercarriage with zero flop. Tomato sauce was fresh tasting and the toppings were good with a good cheese to sauce ratio. This place had been in operation for 120 years and it's easy to see why.

SO glad I heeded the advice of various Internet Citizens and went here to sample truly delicious Tavern Style Chicago Pizza and Vibe. Sat at the bar, the servers were AWESOME, the drinks and the pizza were divine. I'll be coming back …

Yes, foodgasm!!! The pizza was so good, it was like having an orgasm in my mouth, hence, "foodgasm"!!! Nice, crispy crust, flavorful stout souce, and the toppings were fantastic!!! I also love the old school ambience.

Absolutely the best pizzeria in the windy city! The venue has an old school cool feel to it and just so authentic. Family ran business for generations and they just do it right. Feels like grandmas house when you here. Must try when you in Chi City!

Dave Portnoy has developed what appears to be a very lucrative cottage industry of eating pizza and posting his short reviews on YouTube. More importantly, he had determined that I needed to visit Vito & Nick's Pizza. When I arrived at the bar, I had been hoping to inform the bartender that the hours listed on the website "Sun (12 pm-close)" were less than helpful, but she appeared to be too exhausted, dejected, and downright haggard. Instead, I just ordered a 12" half Cheese and half Sausage pie and 16 ounces of PBR. I did ask why there was only PBR when the place is covered in Old Style branding. She replied that she had just broken the Old Style tap, which her demeanor made clear was my cue to stop asking questions. Then an all Sausage pie was delivered some 10 minutes later. A few minutes after that, she returned and slammed her fist down on the bar, which was either a manifestation of delivering the wrong order or her anger at me for not noticing before taking a bite. Either way, I magnanimously let it all go. While I don’t agree with Portnoy's misogynist views, racist rants, or anti-union stance, his take on Vito & Nick's pizza is quite accurate ("pub style . . . they should all be like this . . . 8.1 . . . if you believe in pizza . . ."). Note he is a very tough grader, and the round pizza is cut into squares (which is just plain weird).
