We visited Ciro and Sons on Saturday evening and were given a nice table for two. The setting and atmosphere inside the restaurant were pleasant, We were approached by very friendly waiters who took our food and drink orders. We ordered arancini and calamari as starters. The restaurant started getting very busy while we were waiting for our food. When the starters arrived, the portion sizes were okay, and the calamari tasted fresh. For the main course, my partner chose chicken with mushrooms in Madeira sauce and asked the waiter for fewer vegetables. I ordered spaghetti with lobster. Everything was fine except for the lobster spaghetti, which was disappointing. It lacked flavour — there were plenty of cherry tomatoes, but the lobster didn’t have much meat and the dish was quite bland. There was no noticeable garlic, parsley, olive oil, or buttery flavour. It tasted watery. The waiter asked how our meal was, and I told him honestly that everything was fine except for the lobster spaghetti, which was disappointing. He kindly removed it from the bill and offered complimentary limoncello. Overall, the experience was okay but not special. I’ve had better food at other restaurants, but the service was nice and the staff were friendly.

I loved this place. After arriving at the train station in Florence it was about a 7 minute walk which was perfect when I arrived a little late in the evening. It’s in a safe area and I didn’t have a reservation, but was able to get a table. They sat me right away and I told the server I’m gluten free and they gave me two pieces of gluten free bread that were excellent, olive oil, vinegar and I ordered Chianti, carpaccio, and the meat pasta with onion sauce. Everything was fantastic and I really enjoyed this meal. Service was great and the decor was homey and clean. The seats were a little uncomfortable as a 5’9” woman it was not easy to cut the food in the chair because of the shape of the arms, but that really wasn’t a big deal and the food is just amazing.

This is my favorite place in Florence. I felt like family because I could eat EVERYTHING gluten free. It was so special for me. The owner makes you feel like family as well as the servers. If you are gluten free (or not) this is a DO NOT MISS. It was a great experience. The inside of the restaurant my blends old world with modern seamlessly. The food is fantastic. EVERY MENU ITEM CAN BE MADE GLUTEN FREE. My GF truffle ravioli was perfect. Highly recommend me coming here

We enjoyed a great lunch for the first time at Ciro & Son’s last year and were excited to return on our most recent trip to Florence this month. The margarita pizza is consistently delicious. Love the crust and the fresh flavors. We also love the refreshing insalata Italia (arugula salad was absolutely delicious with tomatoes, Parmesan and croutons). This year we paired our meal with the 2024 Bolgheri Bianco and last year we really enjoyed the Gavi. It was good to see Giuseppe again and a lot of familiar faces from this family owned restaurant. “Alex” Alessandro was a very kind and welcoming waiter. The ambiance is nice and lively. We look forward to our next visit!

Had such a great experience at Ciro & Sons! The food was amazing, and it’s honestly rare to find such high-quality food that handles gluten-free and lactose-free options so well. The atmosphere was perfect, but what really made the night was the service: everyone was so welcoming, especially Alex and Camila. They really went out of their way to look after us and made the evening feel special.

This was our least favorite meal of our trip of 7 days so far. The service was poor as we had to ask or wave down waiters multiple times to order food and for water or any drinks. The table they put us at was unusually tiny and tight- our knees were all hitting each other as well as the booth and chairs being majorly uncomfortable. The food was edible but not one thing we ordered among the five of us was great or stand out. We were told pizzas would come out before the other food ordered but they were brought out 20 minutes after others food was served. Even though it’s not a chain it has the feel of a tourist trap with a Waffle House- photos of dishes type menu. If you do go stick with pasta but try to avoid this place.Read more

A clean, very pleasant place, with very friendly service that makes you feel at home, in addition to being enhanced by a good selection of cheerful Neapolitan music. The gluten-free dishes are a delight, and they offer many different options. I personally loved the gluten-free tiramisu, the best gluten-free I have tried to date. It is appreciated to be able to eat so well and safely, bravo!Read more
