Pizza Lovers say: "Light, perfectly baked crust, fresh tomato sauce, and beautiful mozzarella. Service was prompt, though some found the cover charge a bit unusual."

We stopped by Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba and ordered a Margherita pizza, and it was absolutely worth it. The crust was light and perfectly baked, the sauce had that fresh tomato flavor, and the mozzarella melted beautifully. For such a historic place, the prices are surprisingly reasonable, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. There’s something really special about eating in a pizzeria that’s been serving food for centuries—it feels like being part of Naples’ history. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and you can sense the tradition in every bite. If you want a genuine Neapolitan pizza in a spot with historical charm, this is a must-visit.

A Wonderful Visit to the Oldest Pizzeria in Naples – Excellent Pizza, Warm Service, and Centuries of History We visited the historic Anticchissima Pizzeria Port’Alba in Naples, widely regarded as the oldest pizzeria in the world, with origins dating back to 1738. What began as a simple street stand serving flatbreads to students, travelers, and workers eventually became a full pizzeria around 1830, when pizza started being served as a proper restaurant dish. Stepping inside today feels like stepping into a living piece of culinary history. The atmosphere carries the charm of centuries of tradition — lively, authentic, and unmistakably Neapolitan. You can sense that generations of locals and visitors have passed through these doors long before us. We ordered their oldest traditional pizza and their most popular one, and both were truly excellent. The dough was light and perfectly baked, the ingredients fresh and full of flavor, and the balance of toppings showed the craftsmanship that made Neapolitan pizza famous worldwide. It’s easy to understand why this place has remained a beloved institution for so long. The service was wonderful — warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, which added greatly to the experience. The ambiance was simple but full of character, exactly what you hope for when visiting a historic pizzeria in the heart of Naples. Overall, it was a delightful visit: excellent pizza, lovely service, and the unique opportunity to enjoy a meal in the birthplace of pizza as we know it today. A must‑visit for anyone who wants to experience true Neapolitan tradition.

Amazing pizza in the historical part of town. The menu offers more than 100 different pizza options, and despite the huge selection, everything was served really fast. The waiter was nice, friendly, and clearly knew the menu well, offering helpful suggestions on what to order. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy excellent pizza while exploring the old town.

I had the best recommendations from the 2nd floor waiter. I regret now that I didn’t get his name. He recommended Neapolitan creamy white sauce with black truffle flakes, paired with a delicious Barolo. I attached a picture here in case anyone wants to try. Best experience ever! Grazie mille!

I was walking down a street that appeared to be ancient. I stopped abruptly at the sight of this gem. I told my significant other we should give it a try. We stepped inside and were seated immediately. It was cozy. I looked at the menu to see what was offered. The menu stated Servizio incluso for Coperto 2,00. In English, it was Service included for Cover Charge 2,00. From the Bar section, I ordered a Whisky ………………………………………………………………………………… € 5,00. Our server told me it was JACK DANIEL’S, which was perfect. From the Pizze section, we went with a Pizza Marinara …………………………………………………………………………….. € 6,00. It was Pizza w tomato, garlic, oregano. The Whisky was smooth. I enjoyed it. The Pizza Marinara was bigger than I expected. It had a distinct look and I was ready to try it. The first bite was incredible. The ingredients were simple, yet came together to form a phenomenal flavor. Every bite I had was delicious. Oddly, we wanted more. From the Pizze section, we went with a Pizza Marinara con Funghi …………………………………………………………….. € 8,00. It was Pizza w tomato, oregano, garlic, mushrooms. It came out fast and the flavor was just as phenomenal as the Pizza Marinara. The service was fantastic. Our server was fast. He was also friendly. Overall, it was worth the visit. I was blown away by this place. I hope to go again soon. Date of visit: 23/03/25
