  Delicious sandwiches (panini), the one with panchetta and veggies was supreme! They have lots of pizza or focaccia slices to choose from, which they heat up for you, if you'd like. I can recommend getting the food to eat inhouse, they have lots of bar seating and an interesting space (they display cooking essentials, an old motorcycle and lots of vintage weighing scales). It gets busy at lunchtime (as locals know how good La Renella is!!!) but the food is well worth a short (5-10 min) wait - as then you have time to choose from their large selection.

  Found it by accident and it’s one of the best roman pizzas I’ve had. Half price compared to the overpriced touristy places. Thin crust and lots of flavor&toppings. (Forget the pastry &coffee there though).

  🍕🍕🍕Every tourist wants to know “where the locals go” well look no further than La Renella!! Just across the Arno River in hustling Trastevere, Rome, La Renella is serving up oven (forno) favorites. When we visited, locals were purchasing large quantities of bread for tomorrow and a food guide was ordering various samples for their clients. NO LESS THAN 15 PIZZA OPTIONS!! Tomato, Prosciutto, Mortadella, Margherita, Caprese, Marinara with parsley, anchovies, you name it, there’s something for everyone. We didn’t leave a crumb! Everything was delicious but my favorite was the prosciutto which had the edges crisped after the oven reheat. ⭐️ Pro Tip: Figure out what you want and then be bold and order. Staff will use scissors to cut the size you want. You can have a small slice or as much as you want - just tell them how much you would like. Slices are weighed for your final cost. They asked me if we wanted them heated up. I said yes. 🍕🥐🍕🍞🍕🍪 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  We came here to have a sandwich. I do not know what it is called, but it is pork meat. The pork has a nice saltiness. It was much better than eating ham. Also, the food tour guy mentioned that the price is set by weight. I love their old-school style, casual, and simple vibe. I would highly recommend this place for a quick casual bite.

  Welcome to the carb carnival. Next stop on our food tour, daring you to try just one more slice after your pants have already waved the white flag. This is no ordinary pizza place, it’s a forno, which is Italian for oven. Naturally, someone here looked at the bread, looked at the toppings, and said, Yes, this shall be pizza now. We kicked things off with the Margherita, the classy queen of pizzas, literally. Named after Queen before Italy decided to liberate itself, this was your classic tomato-mozzarella-basil situation. Red, Green and White like the Italian Flag. Regal. Nostalgic. Tastes like a monarchy that actually works. Then came the potato pizza, which, let me tell you, was a surprise carb ambush. Like, Oh cute, a slice of starch on starch. Bread with potatoes on it. For when your body is craving a food coma. And then came the Marinara, my personal Roman romance. No cheese, all attitude. Spicy, saucy, simple. Like that one ex who was too intense but kind of unforgettable. Let’s talk style: Roman pizza is not your floppy Neapolitan mess that folds into a pizza burrito the moment it hits your plate. No no, Roman pizza stands its ground. It’s a little thicker and definitely crunchier. You don’t need to roll it, cradle it, or whisper encouragement. It just is. And I love it more than I probably should. La Renella is where bread goes to find its higher purpose which is to be pizza.

  Best sandwiches in Rome!! Our sandwiches were only €6 each and delicious - great value for money. This is the perfect lunch spot if you’re looking for authentic Italian foccacia sandwiches. The other bakery items also looked really good.

  Not sure why, but the staff coped a nasty attitude towards me. Not helpful at all. I went out of my way to be polite to them. Perhaps because of my nationality. I have no idea. I can not in any way recommend them.

  Amazing, we loved every bite x very authentic and freshly baked. Timed it well, and we're able to sit inside. Only downside no toilet facilities.

  We first stumbled upon this pizza and pastry place over 5 years ago and were delighted to find it was still here and as tasty, reliable and cheap as before! Super tasty pizza, pastries and fresh bread even on Xmas day. Not far from Ponte Sisto just as you arrive in Trastevere.
