Pizza Lovers say: "Best Detroit-Style pizza with great dough and sauce. Sides like Greek salad are yummy. Some found pizza microwaved/moist."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Best Detroit-Style Pizza I’ve Ever Had — Period. If you grew up in Metro Detroit eating Buddy’s, Cloverleaf, or Loui’s, you need to try Nikki’s. It’s like stepping back in time to when pizza tasted real — better dough, richer sauce, real cheese, and that perfect corner crunch. Hands down the best square pizza I’ve had in 50 years of eating Detroit pizza. ⸻ Full Review: I’ve been eating pizza all over Metro Detroit for half a century — Buddy’s, Cloverleaf, Loui’s, Shield’s, you name it. I finally tried Nikki’s Pizza in Detroit, and honestly, it’s the best square pizza I’ve ever had. It reminded me of how pizza used to taste when I was a kid — before everyone started cutting corners with cheaper ingredients. The dough is exceptional: soft inside with a beautifully crisp, buttery crust. The sauce has that old-school depth and balance — not too sweet, not too salty, just perfectly seasoned. The cheese tastes real, rich, and properly melted into the corners the way it should. It’s like Cloverleaf but upgraded — better crust, better sauce, better cheese. You can tell there’s pride behind it. Nikki’s somehow brought back the taste I’ve been missing for decades. If you grew up on real Detroit-style pizza, go try it. It’s the closest thing I’ve found to time travel.

Every piece of food we ordered was unedible for the most part, hummus had so much paprika it hurt my senses, and the pizza was literally MOIST from being microwaved and crusty on top from sitting under a heat lamp. We definitely will not be a repeat customer or recommend, ever. Waitress was nice & timely but with a kitchen like that, yikes, were the only people here and the poor girl has to wait 20 mins for our order

Went for lunch with my coworker - it was pretty filled up by 1pm but there was only 1 server working the whole floor. Several tables were busted but not clean so it while to find a clean seat. Despite that she took care of us pretty well and food came out quick enough. I ordered 1 slice with side Greek (very yummy sauce, thick Detroit style pizza) and she ordered the gyro plate. As you can see very generous servings.

I visited Detroit for the first time on Tuesday 9/2. I wanted to try a Detroit Style pizza for the first time. Went to Niki’s after doing some searching (and also this was the only one of the big names that popped up open on a Tuesday which surprised me). I can’t speak for the rest of the Greek menu, but we ordered a small 1/2 Mediterranean 1/2 Cheese and it was super delicious! I’m a New Yorker born and raised. While I will never say this dethrones NY style, I will definitely say this is so much better than Chicago deep dish and it has made me start looking up where I can get Detroit style local to me. Though I can’t imagine it’ll be anywhere as good as this was.

Visited this place only once but it was surprisingly good. We had a small chicken barbecue pizza (4 pieces Detroit style pizza) and a special two piece pepperoni with salad. Salad was big enough for two people. Chicken BBQ pizza was delicious. The menu is pretty diverse with many options for vegetarians. Also, all of their chicken items are halal. Would definitely go back to this place to try other items.

Had a peaceful lunch with friends, sharing some pizzas and beers. Was surprised by the special winning pizza with Feta, while the pizza with salami could have had a bit more, but overall pretty good

Just takes too long. Plenty of employees working so there’s no need for it to take 30 minutes for 2 pieces of pizza. This is our spot to go in Detroit, but we may have to find a new location!! Just too slow!!

We came to Detroit looking for some pizza and Niki’s did not disappoint. The feta pizza was perfect! Alaskan amber ale was on special. Pizza and 4 drinks less than $40.

Server was friendly but was very absent minded to the point I question if perhaps she was high? Especially since they were not busy at all! Pizza was a great price but dry. My friend said her salad was excellent though.

We visit Detroit every couple years, my favourite restaurant that is a must stop is Nikkis! I love their salads and pizzas! We stopped in Detroit overnight when passing thru just to stop at Nikkis. We were so excited. We got there around 6:00 and it was not busy. We sat there around 20 minutes with waitresses passing by but no one stopped. Finally my we stopped and asked if we could order some drinks, she took our drink order. About 15 minutes later another woman came to our table with waters and asked if she could take our drink order. We told her we had been there 30 minutes and ordered drinks with someone else. Once we received our drinks we had been there almost 40 minutes. We ordered a salad, and then we ordered a pizza. After finishing our salad it had already been an hour snd half, we just told our waitress we would take our pizza to go. We left her a great tip and left with our pizza. I was just so disappointed that we stayed in Detroit to just go here and was just so disappointed!
