Perfection. Worth a trip to Detroit just to experience this gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and subtly sophisticated. It is tiny and cozy but perfect for a quick date night. Confidently cool and creative, the menu is fun to read and everything we tasted exceeded expectations. The thoughtful flavor combinations combined with the most perfectly cheese-baked-in pizza crust = chef's kiss! Also there are plenty of super fun (NA) drinks to enjoy with your meal. Definitely try the Key Lime Panna Cotta to savor the fleeting moments of culinary bliss. Thanks Hunter for the menu suggestions and perfect service!

The food is amazing. They have some of the best pizza I have had. The flavor and toppings are top tier. The crust has a buttery like finish. The beverage is delicious. We got the carrots and I am not a carrot person but I would eat those carrots any day of the week. They have a ramp for wheelchairs and they have chairs and booths. In the summer they have a lot of space outside but in the winter it might be a tight fit if you have a scooter like I sometimes do. You add or replace or switch things on the menu and I was tempted to do their pizza of the month but I will next time. The bathroom is shared with other businesses and it's not their fault but I had to clean before I could use it. That was just about the only issue.

Detroit has a couple different foods that are heavily associated with the area; coneys, Middle Eastern cuisine, and Detroit styled pizzas. I've stopped at a couple coney islands before and I already had a Middle Eastern restaurant in mind...and there wasn't a restaurant near either Motown or the Henry Ford museum complex. However, I've long wanted to try an authentic Detroit pizza and Michigan and Trumbull turned up as a well-rated place. Due to its convenient location near Motown, I decided to check it out. It is located right at the end of Trumbull pretty close to the Motown Museum in a nice brick building. Other than a street level sign, it doesn't stick out too much so you will have to have a sharp eye. There's a small parking lot but there is also free street parking nearby. The atmosphere is a nice and cozy place with a bit of a contemporary motif. Do note that the dining area is a little small so larger groups might have a challenge finding seating here. Also note that if they sell out of pizza, they do close for the day. Go earlier if you can, but definitely keep them selling out in mind. The service is pretty good. Not world class in my opinion but they do a good job servicing the dining area. Also, pop (that's soda to everyone not native to Michigan) is served by the can. Now on to the pizza. I had the Packard Pepperoni pizza (pepperoni, hot honey, candied chiles). The pizza was served almost right out of the oven and very fresh. The crust was very favorable and not too dense and a little bit of crunch on the edges and the pizza was very cheesy. Most of all, I loved how the pepperoni, hot honey and chiles played off each other. Just the right amount of bite with a little sweetness to balance it and the pepperoni was very tasty. Probably one of the best pizzas I've had and makes me wish more that folks could experience actual Detroit pizza as words and photos just don't give the whole picture. So if you're in Detroit and want a great experience with Detroit-styled pizza, definitely visit Michigan and Trumbull...and maybe come early to ensure you get the experience.

Words cannot describe how good this pizza was. Best pizza I’ve ever had in a very cozy atmosphere. I felt like I was in a cute little coffee shop but for pizza. Staff were very nice and offered lots of help for our first time trying Detroit style pizza. Desserts were also delicious and loved that they were gluten free and one was even vegan. Make sure you come before they run out of pizza!!! We will definitely be back next time we’re in Detroit!

A born on the east coast long time resident of Chicago reviews Detroit pizza. This has been hailed as one of the best places in the city, so I had to try it before leaving. The place is in a bit of a purgatory zone, with lots of old warehouses and construction. The entrance is a little hard to find due to small signage, but it is the business right on the corner. The staff was lovely, and the service was also lovely. The pizza was lovely. Did it blow my mind, no. But it was really lovely. The sauce tastes fresh and the ingredients seem of quality. I would recommend a visit for out-of-towners to try before leaving.

10-15 minute wait. It’s a small dining area out front and a few counter seats. 5 tables, 6 window counter seats and 6 front counter seats. May be an ideal carry out spot. Took down my name and number for a seat. A little over 10 minute wait. Ordered a La Croix Pure, arugula salad, no croutons, Farnsworth Funghi, added garlic, chicken, yellow pepper, bell pepper, red onion, teader fries, roasted carrots. Ordered a lemon vinaigrette to go, 10 ounce for $7.42. Total bill is $58.65. CC portable reader to cash out at the table. Pizza comes in one size, the size of the paper menu. No Faygo Red Pop, that’s still my favorite flavor. The arugula Parmesan is the same as what’s on the table. The pepperoni looks good, curling up. The arugula salad is simple, lemon vinaigrette dressing is nicely citrusy, fresh and good. The arugula is nice and green and maybe baby arugula. The teader fries are nicely seasoned and good on their own, good still with the cilantro ranch dipped. They have those dreaded paper straws, it of course bent and fractured from the saturation in the can. Had to get a second straw to finish the can. The carrots are okay, not my favorite, just seems plain. Heirloom carrots, yellow and purple carrots. The bell pepper here aren’t red, they are clearly green pepper and are roasted, not fresh. Ok. The funghi with the add-ons was just okay for me, not the hype I was expecting. They do use all fresh ingredients. Not a lot of chicken pieces as an add-on. I only got one small piece in my two middle squares. :/ Small 6 piece square pizza cost $20.

We visited Michigan and Trumbull on a Saturday afternoon, and they were sold out and said no Pizzas. We came back again on Sunday to get the flavor of Detroit style pizza. They didn't disappoint, and the Pizza was served perfect crispy, great sauce and cheese. The staff is friendly and helpful. this time, I called them ahead to ensure they carry pizza lol... There are indoor and outdoor dining spots. The parking situation is tricky where you can park roadside or lot across them. Pizza is definitely outstanding and must be tried.

Really enjoyed our visit to Michigan & Trumbull. We got the Packard Pepperoni, Buffalo Chicken, and Stanley Stix—everything was very good, but the buffalo chicken pizza was the standout. Honestly the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend getting extra cilantro ranch—it’s the real MVP and goes with everything. The vodka sauce that comes with the Stanley Stix was great too. Each pizza comes with six thick slices, so it’s easy to share or take some home. They also have a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks, including canned Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite. The restaurant is really small, so just know you might have to wait or do carryout. But it’s definitely worth it.

This is quite literally the best little corner pizza spot! We were here for a quick visit and knew we needed to find a local place with good Detroit pizza… we hit it out of the park with M&H! Right from the start the staff was amazing! They have limited seating but spots open at the bar (not large 7-8 seats I think) but the star of the show is the food! We got roasted broccoli - with subtle lemon drizzle and the char… loved it! Then add in the cheese pizza - it was so good! The crust was light and not heavy, cheese and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. Doesn’t feel heavy and gross after eating. Also had a side of cilantro ranch for dipping, didn’t go wrong. Lovely choice of non-alcoholic mocktails and complementary wine. 10/10 check them out!
