Grandma Bob’s is such a great fit for Detroit, especially Corktown. The space has a cool industrial auto garage vibe that feels authentic without trying too hard. We came early and it filled up fast. By the time we left there were easily 15 or more people waiting for a table, but at no point did we feel rushed. The waitstaff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. The drinks were unusual in a good way. Not necessarily the best cocktails I’ve ever had, but very good, and I can honestly say I’ve never had anything that tasted quite like the Sugar Plum drink. It was memorable and fun to try something totally different. The pizza was near perfect. I personally like my Detroit style pizza with just a little more buttery grease on the edges, but that is truly nitpicking. The crust, cheese, and overall balance were excellent and incredibly satisfying. There isn’t much seating, so arriving early helps, but the atmosphere, service, and food make it well worth it. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for great pizza and a uniquely Detroit experience.

A Google search for gluten-free vegan cheese pizza turned this spot up, so I called, confirmed, and stopped in to try it out. Parked in the back, and was a little confused about whether I needed to pay or not pay. The staff didn’t know either. Luckily, my car was still in tact when I came out. The back door looks like an employee’s only entrance, but it’s not. The interior decor is the typical trendy Corktown style, very quaint and almost tight to maneuver, but it works. I placed my order at the bar. No issues there. The staff was welcoming, and the food was prepared quickly. $40 later, I left with two pizzas. One regular deep dish with pepperoni and hot honey. One gluten-free vegan cheese and mushroom pizza. Both presented well, had fresh ingredients, and were filling. I added sea salt and herbs to both to jazz them up, made them even more tasty. Good stuff all around.

Grandma Bob’s is an absolute must visit. The Detroit style pepperoni pizza with hot honey was next level ,perfectly crisp on the edges, light and airy inside (not heavy or dense like a lot of Detroit style pies), and that sweet heat combo from the hot honey was unreal. The atmosphere is just as good as the food. It has a super trendy, welcoming vibe with cool community seating that makes it easy to hang out, and actually enjoy the experience. The service was fast, friendly, and on point from start to finish. On top of all that, their selection of great local craft beers really ties everything together and makes it a perfect Detroit food and drinks stop. Hands down one of the best pizza spots in the city. I’ll definitely be back. 🍕🍻

Our group ordered the spicy pepperoni Detroit style pizza. It was the best- chunks of ricotta, hot honey, pepperoni, with a deep-dish style crust. So tasty! This place was packed on a weeknight, but the service was great and the staff worked hard to seat our large party. Right across the street from the Michigan Central train station- perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner after visiting the nearby sites.

We felt so lucky to snag four seats at the bar on a busy Saturday afternoon. We ordered a delicious salad and some pizza and it was all fantastic. The bartender who served us took great care of us. Our kids also enjoyed a cup of twist soft-serve ice cream for dessert.

We really enjoyed the sausage, mushroom, pistachio Detroit style pizza. The garlic cheese bread stood out as well. Great beers, great pizza, easy location with parking nearby

We ordered two kinds of bread and three medium pizzas just to try this out! Cheese bread and jalapeño cheesy bread - both were very good! I would order again. Pickle pizza - definitely my favorite because of the uniqueness - I would definitely come back for this pizza! Big Mac pizza - people sitting next to us told us that it was the best and we needed to order it. It was good, but I probably wouldn’t pick it again. It was my husband’s favorite though. Meat lovers - I thought that it tasted like most other meat lovers pizzas, but our two teens liked this one best. Both the cider and craft beer were just okay. We wouldn’t pick those again. Our son ordered an Oreo shake and inhaled it. He would order that again! Paid parking is available behind the restaurant. We thought pricing was a little high, but the food was great!

We swung in here for another taste of Detroit style pizza and it did not disappoint. We ordered their cheesy bread and the spicy peperoni pizza. This place is clearly popular with locals and was packed (even at 5:30 p.m.). We were able to get a seat up at the bar, but it is communal seating at the tables so you will get to know your neighbors if you do sit at a table. The service was very friendly and it seems like they had a veggie option of all their pizzas, so very inclusive that way. Overall it was good food, a fun atmosphere and quick service. I would recommend them for a pie if you are in this neighborhood.
