One of the best pizzas I’ve had anywhere. There are multiple different flours you can have your pizza base made with - I chose Evolutiva, which is a mix of 2000 different whole wheat grains from Sicily. The crust had a lovely light crunchiness to it. I am gluten sensitive and felt no negative effects from this pizza, which is a rare thing for me. The place also has a kids play area with baby-sitters on staff. Our kids loved this. Service was fast and efficient. My father in law asked the server to put his pizza bones in a bag for the dog. The guy returned with a bag of pizza bones for him to take home to his dog.

Visited La Bracieria in Villa recently and was thoroughly impressed! This place strikes a wonderful balance between rustic charm and modern elegance. The interior is spacious, offering ample seating for a comfortable dine-in experience. The food here is exceptional – both in taste and portion size, ensuring a satisfying meal. But what truly sets Maps apart is the welcoming and attentive staff. They create an inviting atmosphere that complements the overall dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality food in a cosy setting!

The 2 stars are mostly for the staff who are lovely. We arrived at this restaurant stressed as we couldn’t find it! Google brings you to a locked gate, nowhere is it referenced that you have to access through the hotel entrance which is further down the road. Fine if you are a local, not good if you are a tourist. When we finally arrived, it was evening time and there were no exterior lights in the carpark so we stumbled our way trying to find the restaurant. The restaurant location could be lovely as the hotel looks quite luxurious but the mix of indoor and outdoor eating felt really disjointed. The food was edible but that was it - we ordered a mixed fried starter which was an odd selection of arinici, a chickpea type bread, fries and crisps. We ordered the grilled beef fillet for main course which came with fries or a salad (I’ve included an image). The salad was literally a head of lettuce with no other vegetable or dressing and no sauce for the beef. We normally have a dessert and an espresso after dinner but the restaurant was really noisy so we just wanted to leave. This restaurant could be so much better given the location and how lovely the staff are but the standard of food, the noisy ambience and information around its location really negatively impacts the overall experience.

This was a pleasant restaurant to sit in. Looks nothing like the photos but it has to be the same place, at Sicily airport. Had a nice glass of wine and a very below average pizza margherita (barely any cheese or tomato!) But the standout was the wonderful service I received from Francesca, who couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. A real asset to your restaurant.

Looks great in arrival, overlooks the sea and is decorated nice but the food was really bad, 2 chicken burgers and a grilled chicken. Should have come with heart attack warnings cheap and very greasy, it smelled really bad on arrival and didn’t taste great at all. Most got wasted, couple of mouthfuls of each burger and the grilled chicken didn’t get touched at all. The service was OK, the lady apologised but said it would still need to be paid and being in a foreign country and wanting to just get home I thought I’d best pay. The service charge of just under 10 Euros was non negotiable though on my part and I discussed it with the manger who agreed to waive it. £50 and the only acceptable thing was the water, in fact the chips were decent, just a little too salty.

We had a great meal at La Braciera before catching our flight and were pleasantly surprised. You don’t expect standout pizza at an airport, but this was genuinely tasty, nice thin crust, good char, fresh toppings. The real highlight though was our server Francesca. She was warm, polite and such a delight to talk to. She took the time to chat with us and made us feel looked after even though the restaurant was busy with other travelers. That kind of service really stands out, especially in a place where you’d expect a rushed experience. Good food and even better hospitality. If you see Francesca, say hello, she made our stop so much more enjoyable.

Never again! I arrived at Palermo Airport; it was 40 degrees outside, and the air conditioning inside wasn't working. We saw a restaurant on the first floor called "La Braciera e Pizzeria." My 4- and 8-year-old children wanted pizza, so I ordered one Margherita pizza and two iced teas for them. The fact that a Margherita pizza costs an incredible 15 euros and an iced tea costs 5 euros in such a nasty, air-conditioning-free restaurant is bad enough, but the real shock came when it was time to pay: they demanded a 14-euro *coperto* (service/cover charge), even though we had only ordered a single pizza. When I objected, arguing that four people hadn't actually used the service—only two children sharing one pizza had—they refused to refund the money, claiming that since we were sitting at the table with the children, we were required to pay for four people. When I asked if I was supposed to leave my 4-year-old sitting alone at the table, I was met with sheer nastiness and arrogance. The much-touted Sicilian hospitality and kindness are a complete sham; it is a disgrace and the height of arrogance. Never again Palermo—and certainly never that airport.
