  Great New York-style pizza, available by the slice at an walk-up counter (and therefore dog friendly :). There’s limited seating outside on the sidewalk. The crust is as great as you’d imagine from Bub and Grandma’s. As others have noted, the pies are sauce-forward, a little light on the cheese. The ingredients and toppings I thought were great quality. Now that the initial buzz has died down, wait times are a lot more reasonable. Great addition to the neighborhood, much better than Town Pizza was.

  i like this place a lot!! very grateful to have a place in the neighborhood where i can walk up and get a couple slices of pizza. i’ve been multiple times; ive never had to wait more than 10 minutes (closer to ten if i order the garlic knots which are delicious btw xx). one of these days ill try the wings, maybe even order a whole pie (ambitious) pizza is pretty decent. yes, maybe it could cost less; maybe it could taste even better, but i’m pretty satisfied with how it is, in its current state. great service too. lots of cuties.

  If expectations weren’t so high for this spot given B&G status and its location, it might be 4 stars (compared to other LA pizza joints doing NY-style) — but these were the issues: 1) not enough cheese (and I HATE when a slice is too cheesy, but this was way too sauce forward); 2) size of slice is way too small for price IMO; 3) sliiiightly too overcooked and charred.. you want crispy bottom but still some chew in the actual crust; 4) cheese was slightly too Parmesan leaning for my taste, a little sharp with the sharp acidic sauce (but overall ingredients were high quality and if that’s your thing, it’s good). Also we asked the girl at counter to cut it in half for us and she said “I can give you a knife!” which was a weird reply for a slice shop. Overall, it has the makings of being great if they can dial it in.

  I’ve gotten some slices here before because I work nearby, and always found them to be yummy—though pretty light on the sauce. I personally loooove tomato sauce, so when I decided to order a pie last night, I paid $4 extra for double sauce (their toppings are priced pretty steeply, but the extra sauce was what my taste buds really wanted). I even added the black olives myself because I couldn’t stomach paying another $5 for olives, since I was already paying $4 for extra sauce. This is the amount of sauce that was on the pizza. I was pretty disappointed when I found out I wasted money paying for double sauce just to get a pizza with barely any sauce. Strange.

  Had a beautiful night under the afternoon clouds sitting and eating this exquisite yet affordable pizza. Nico popped under the service window and gave us thoughtful and kind topping recommendations. We HAD to try their eggplant parm pie and it was SO DELICIOUS. Thank You ❤️____❤️🍕🍕🍕🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴

  Best known for their Breads, now offered at over one hundred Los Angeles’ eateries, Bub and Grandma's also serves their goods at a Restaurant in Glassell Park where guests can experience Breakfast or Lunch on-site or via the takeaway window. Owned by Andy Kadin, his brand expanding from Farmer’s Markets in 2017 to a Restaurant and Pizzeria, would-be guests are asked to wait at a generally unmanned podium on arrival for seating, this a prelude of things to come as service in general seems fairly disinterested. Offering both counter seats and booths, a look at the kitchen showing much of the Food mere assemblage, arrival before 11am sees Egg Sandwiches take center stage with fluffy Eggs folded neatly on a soft seeded-Kaiser Roll with a choice of Meats, Mayo and Ketchup. Priced akin to other Los Angeles Breakfasts, think $14 Sandwiches and $7 Pastries, Bub and Grandma’s Buttermilk Biscuit arrives plain with extra cost for Butter or Jam largely unnecessary as the quality is excellent with substantial textural variance from bite-to-bite. Probably a bit too “hip” for its own good, or perhaps understaffed on a Saturday morning, it was only after flagging down a mustached runner that Water was refilled and Dessert ordered, the fluffy Cinnamon Roll with lightly Whipped Frosting a work of art while Banana Cream Pie, a Donut and thin Cookie were all fairly basic.

  Had breakfast and lunch here during a 5-day trip to Los Angeles and really loved it. There were five of us for lunch and everyone had good things to say. Excellent sandwiches and homemade potato chips, amazing donuts! Will definitely go back.

  Delicious food! We had brisket sandwich and riboletta soup.bread is out of this world! Riboletta soup was very tasty with warm baguette. We got a house sourdough boule, key lime pie slice and blood orange doughnut to go for son and daughter in law. We gobbled the blood orange doughnut up- wow! So fresh
