I was a solo diner and waiting for some friends to return from a tour. The service was incredibly welcoming and they didn’t rush me at all. I took my time selecting 2 different cocktails and an appetizer. I sat outside enjoying the sun and the breeze making it quite a delightful afternoon. The essence of this place was all that I needed to relax and they welcomed the vibe. While I’m not keen on pizza they had plenty of other noshes for me to try. I look forward to going back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here at the St Paul Location. While our server, Chloe, was initially running service alone when we arrived, this didn’t take away from how warm, friendly and attentive she was with us. Chloe even took the time to sit down at our table to share a list of areas to visit in the city - bars, restaurants etc. Now to the food - we ordered the ricotta and artichoke pate and arugula and mozzarella salad with added anchovies (both delicious, fresh and good portions), and we had the capriccio pizza on a gluten free base and the other pizza was the grilled vegetable on a regular base. Both yummy. I’ve had many sad gluten free bases in my time, and this wasn’t one of them. Yes a little more dense and spongy than a traditional Italian base, but it was flavourful and had some bounce and lightness to it (see photo) It was a long way from the usual premade piece of gluten free cardboard most pizza restaurants offer. Very pleasantly surprised. The toppings were generous and it left no room for dessert this time. Thanks Chloe and the Pizzeria No 900 team.

My second visit to a Pizzeria No.900. These guys have the Neopolitan pizza nailed. Unbelievable crust… so good I’d eat it without toppings! Their toppings are awesome too, though.

I had the Buratta Italienne and Charlevoix pizzas. Though the pizzas tasted good they very soggy and floppy from the sauce. Not sure if this is the Napolitaine style? I was hungry I are. I sat outside when the waitress said there was no A/C inside. Of course I found out afterwards that there was a section inside with AC. I also asked if they used a wood burning stove and she said yes, it turned out it was gas fired. The tiramisu was okay, I have had better.

The name says Neapolitan but it is not quite. The crust was a bit limp and not enough lift to it. The fior di latte was frugal. We were sitting outdoors in chilly weather and the problem with eating a pie outdoors is that the 900 degree temperate falls rapidly and then it is a very different pie unless you finish it superfast! The place was packed on a Friday evening and most people had reservations. But the pricing was very reasonable for a super expensive place like QC.

Waitress was very good. Knew we shouldn’t order two salads because they were so big. So that saved me $. Beer was tasty and cold. Pizza was Neapolitan style so you must like that style. Brick oven style oven, not wood or coal fired. I like that style occasionally so I chose ham and mushrooms. I was very pleased with food, beer and service.

Let me start by saying the pizza was very good and I would be happy to return for another dinner. However, improvements can be made. My wife and I have enjoyed pizza in Napoli and other locations around the world. Here are some suggestions for Margherita perfection. First, you are cooking the pizza too long. I could have picked up any slice of this pizza folded it and eaten it; which I did. That should not be possible. True Neapolitan pizza cannot be eaten with anything other than a fork and knife. It would completely fall apart if you tried to pick up a slice. Less cooking time, more crushed tomato and more oil on top will return the slice to the correct consistency. Keep in mind, these are not necessarily my personal preferences. I also enjoy New York style pizza which is a very, very different experience. I am simply pointing out the truest path to a real Neapolitan pie. Incidentally, my wife and I recently enjoyed some fantastic pizza in Porto (Portugal). It was so good, we returned to the restaurant a second night in a row. We asked finally how they had perfected their preparation. Answer? The chef was imported from Napoli

Great casual restaurant for a good pizza and a glass of wine or beer. Friendly service and good food and ambiance. Highly recommend!
