  Higher end Italian place in Irvine, there was ample seating inside and outside during the weekday lunch hour when we dined there. Lots of Italian offerings on the menu from pizza to pasta dishes to salads, they also have extensive alcohol options. We ordered a pizza, a calzone, and a shrimp salad, ever was a good/large portion size and quite delicious. The atmosphere is excellent here and some very nice outdoor seating is available as well. Staff were very friendly and professional, if anything I felt underdressed for the establishment. My only real concern here was the high prices, expect to spend quite a bit when dining at Angelina's.

  I recently visited Angelina’s Pizzeria in Irvine and had an excellent meal that reminded me why this place has such a loyal following. We started with two appetizers that completely set the tone for the night: the calamari and the lamb chops. The calamari was outstanding perfectly crispy on the outside without being greasy, and tender on the inside. It had a light, well-seasoned batter that let the freshness of the seafood shine through. Too often calamari can be rubbery or overly heavy, but this was cooked just right and easily one of the better versions I’ve had. The lamb chops appetizer was equally impressive. They were flavorful, juicy, and cooked to perfection, with a rich, savory seasoning that complemented the natural taste of the meat. For an appetizer portion, the quality felt more like something you’d expect from a high-end steakhouse than a neighborhood pizza spot. For the main course we ordered the Diavolo pizza with mild salami. It was delicious great crust, balanced sauce, and high-quality toppings. That said, having tried it before with the spicy salami, I have to admit I prefer the spicier version. The extra kick really elevates the pizza and gives it more personality. The mild salami is good, but the spicy salami brings the Diavolo to life and better matches the bold flavors the pizza is meant to deliver. Overall, Angelina’s continues to impress with both its appetizers and pizzas. The attention to detail in preparation and flavor really stands out. If you’re debating what to order, don’t skip the calamari or lamb chops and definitely go for the spicy salami on the Diavolo if you like a little heat. Highly recommended

  Overall experience was not good. Probably the first time I’m compelled to give a review like this. We ordered 3 things. One was good. Two were okay. The service was not good. The lady who served us probably had a bad day. I literally would get up walk to them to ask for things. They barely wanted to educate us on the menu. Recommendations were off, the pricing was further off because of the recommendations. We were charged like $16 for a substitution. We were excited since this was in our neighborhood but I don’t think we will be motivated to go there again. The price and the overall experience did not make sense.

  My first visit to this incredible place. I was impressed with the amazingly delicious flavors they offer on there food plates. Especially the spaghetti and meatballs so full of natural flavors. Definitely I will return many times there menu is a large one.

  Waited a bit to get a server but he ended up being great. Pizzas are delicious and bigger than expected for individual size

  Amazing bad customer service. The rudest host I’ve ever encountered. We came at 8, the restaurant closes at 930. He refused to seat us as they were closing soon. We went to another restaurant in the same plaza, ate, and walked back by an hour later. They were still open. Management needs to address this.

  We started with Calamari Fritti, excellent. Crispy, tasty not greasy. The Meatballs were very tasty, tender, great recommendation. The pizzas were good; Boscaiola, Burrata and Capricciosa. A mix of red and white sauces. All were good the favorites were Capricciosa and Burrata. The wine selections by the glass and bottle was solid. Wine glasses were beautiful and enabled wine to breathe. Eduardo provided superb service.

  This place wants to be an upscale Italian restaurant. Food, from what I could tell, is decent, and the pizza is very much to my liking, even though the dough was not crispy at all. Calamari appetizer was very good and generous. Service was friendly and fast. After my appetizer I would have been interested in the mushroom risotto (to compare with one enjoyed last December at a Michelin place in Paris), but the noise level was not inviting, and I opted to share a pizza with my wife instead. If the place is really loud already, why do you have to add music, and then, of all styles, rap? Really? It did not help we were sitting directly underneath one of the ceiling mounted speakers. Next to the open kitchen, the noise is even more unbearable. It sounded like they were throwing pans at the wall, constantly. If the purpose of the noise was to drive us out, they succeeded. We left without desert. I may come back for happy hour or lunch when you can sit outside.
