I had high expectations for Feride Restaurant based on the location and look of the place, but sadly the food was a huge disappointment. From the very start, nothing tasted fresh. The appetizers were bland and lacked any real flavour. The …

After having some mediocre food near SultanAhmet I asked one of my Turkish friends to suggest a place to have some flavourful food. He advised to go to Fishekhana and choose any restaurant. We walked in to Ferida and our server Farhat was …

Ferida may pull you in with its good atmosphere and vibe, but its food will surely disappoint you: it was below average, and for the price point, it was even borderline bad. We tried the Ferida kebab, which was chewy and lacking flavor. The mini truffle cheeseburgers, which were also chewy and had not even a hint of truffle. And lastly we tried a pizza whose dough was too thin yet still somehow doughy. Points are given due to the atmosphere, the place is aesthetically pleasing after all. And, the staff were friendly enough. Finally the bathroom was too tiny and unclean for such an establishment.

Today, we had the opportunity to dine at Ferida in Fişekhane, and while there were some notable positives, the overall experience left much to be desired. The Positives: The service was impeccable. The lead waiter, if I could call him that, was incredibly sweet and accommodating. He even moved us to an outdoor table as soon as one became available, which greatly enhanced our dining experience. The vibe of the place is also quite nice, with a pleasant ambiance that makes you feel welcome. The Negatives: Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the same standard as the service and ambiance. We ordered a burrata, Margherita pizza, steak, and penne arrabiata—nothing too adventurous, but enough to gauge the quality of the kitchen. -Burrata: The burrata came with a twist—strawberries. This addition did not complement the dish at all. Moreover, the burrata itself was of poor quality, with lumpy, plasticky bits that were off-putting. - Penne Arrabiata: My heart sank the moment I saw canned sliced olives in the dish. The sauce tasted like a mix of canned pizza sauce with a hint of Tabasco, which was abhorrent. The penne was also overcooked. - Steak: The steak was not of the best quality. To be fair, my son did eat it, but it was far from exceptional. - Pizza: The Margherita pizza was edible, but that's about all I can say. It did not stand out in any meaningful way. In conclusion, if you're looking for a place with excellent service and a nice atmosphere, it might be worth a visit. However, if food quality is your primary target, you might want to look elsewhere. Would I come here again? Unfortunately, no.
