Artigiano is, apparently, a family owned small italian restaurant very akin to our portuguese 'tascas' both in its style and food preparation and display standards. Starting off with the space, there's a small yet lovely dining room (there's also outdoor sitting) that keeps the clients and the staff always very close to each other and creates a cozy yet somewhat 'controlled' environment. The food seems and tastes very natural and more like a homemade meal rather than the overtly commercial experience most other italian restaurants offer, which is, assuredly, a breath of fresh air. I did, however, feel like the food was a bit too 'handcrafted' for my taste and the overtly simple ingredients and cooking process left me wishing for something a bit a fancier. This is, however, a question of personal preference and someone else might actually appreciate Artigiano's more grounded approach to cuisine which, in truth, is probably more loyal to what genuine italian cuisine is than the commercial offering of most self styled italian restaurants. Both the Trilogia di Bruschette and the Artigiano pizza packed very fresh ingredients and had a strong, natural flavour. The pizza did have a lot of burrata spread all over it so take that into consideration if you're not a fan of that. I confess that, not being an aficionado, was a bit caught by surprise by having so much of it spread on every slice of the pizza, which made me not enjoy it much. The staff was nice and polite, but had a tendency to stay perched around the door (right next to my table) almost behaving in a police like manner. While i'm sure everything was well intentioned, it created a slightly uncomfortable feeling. In the end i left a bit conflicted. For me, this was a 3 star experience. The food wasn't too much to my liking and the overall experience wasn't worth the 4 stars considering my individual experience. I do, however, feel like this a highly subjective take and that some of the things i mentioned might actually be considered positive aspects (the homemade, handcrafted food, the natural ingredients, the family spirit of the restaurant, etc) which would make this a 4 or 5 star experience for another person. Only being able to speak for myself, i will give this experience a 3 star review based on what i said above, but know that it is a very subjective take.

Omg, I love the lasagna here! SO VERY delicious! The service was so kind and genuine. The ambiance was authentic and very comfortable. There was great music and the decor was original to the Italian flavor it comes from. 😋 Bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus. Such a positive energy full of love for its customers. Another great restaurant in Lisbon. Thank you for receiving us with kindness and respect. Much love to you Artigiano! ❤️ You made our stay in Lisbon something to talk and remember that was great!

I was in Lisbon for work and randomly walked into this restaurant and to my surprise, the owners turned out to be Albanian from my own city. The food was amazing, the service was warm, and the whole experience genuinely made me feel at home. Faleminderit for the hospitality. Highly recommended!

I wanted to like it but it looks like we went to a different restaurant to the other reviews here! We had to send the prawn pasta back as it was too hard and when it came back it was dry and my penne al pollo had very little meat in it. More than that there was not much taste to either dish. The 'classic' tiramassu was actually a badly made sponge cake. We sent it back for good. Maybe they just had a bad day but we cannot recommend this restaurant.
