Pizza lovers have to make sure to book a reservation at Forno D'oro when in Lisbon. When we knew we would be spending a few days we researched and found Forno D'Oro to be ranked as one of the top 10 outside Italy...so we had to try it. The …

Don't bother to go! There are so many other nice pizza restaurants in Lisbon than this one! If one makes the mistake to reserve a table at ''Forno d Oro'' they send notifications 4 hours before, warning you: ''Cancellations made less than 12h in advance or no-shows incur a €25 fee per person. Thank you very much.'' In what other restaurants do they fine the customers if they don't show up? This is absolutely the FIRST time we see sth like that! They don't even follow the EU rules with the Upfront Warnings when one makes a reservation! Another negative thing is that there is so much NOISE in there that one can not even hear the person sitting at the same table!!! Then the waiters are told to push starters to customers even if they haven't ordered them! Some people may believe that these tomato starters they bring are ON THE HOUSE and with all that NOISE one can hardly communicate! This is so wrong! The pizza we ordered was okay but nothing exceptional and can be found in so many other places in Lisbon. We dont dare to think how they treat their employees who must be very stressed working under so bad working conditions!

We had such a great experience at Forno d’Oro that we ended up visiting twice during our stay in Lisbon — dinner first and then returning again for lunch before flying home. The restaurant is rightly famous for its pizzas, and my vegetarian pizza was excellent — proper Neapolitan style, fire-cooked, with a fantastic base and flavour. We asked if the dishes could be made a little spicier and they were very happy to accommodate, which we really appreciated. Although the pizza was excellent, the spaghetti with prawns was also a real highlight. The homemade tomato sauce was absolutely delicious and felt like the secret ingredient that brought the dish together. We were served both times by Bishal, who has been there for nearly 10 years, and Bai, who had only started 3 weeks earlier. Both looked after us really well and made us feel genuinely welcome each time we visited. On our second visit we also tried dessert, which was a perfect way to finish another excellent meal. Great food, lovely service, and definitely somewhere we would recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon.

Busy pizza place in a local Lisbon neighborhood. Definitely make a reservation, and note that they’re 90 minutes. They did kindly ask us to leave after 90 minutes, which was a bummer but stated at the beginning. Food was good all around, but no standout dishes.
