Love that Detroit style pizza. The crust was thick, chewy and crisp. The marinara sauce on the top was spicy. It was $27 for a large Mott (with 4 veggie toppings) and it was delicious. They even have vegan pepperoni. I like that the owner from Detroit makes an authentic pizza.

Absolutely the best wings around. Chuck and Sara are the best, they always provide excellent service and conversation. The Hockeytown pizza is my favorite and don't forget the garlic parmesan fries! Two thumbs up!

Our first time here and we ordered takeout online. I liked that they texted you when your order was going in the oven. It was ready right on time! The only minor thing we didn't enjoy was the cookie was way overbaked and hard and the toppings on the one pizza was a little too extra crispy and borderline burnt. The pizza was pretty good as well as the cheesy breadsticks. The mozzarella sticks werent bad but probably not something I would order again. Overall, decent pizza and we will probably be back. :)

I saw ricotta and had to get The Barry pizza. It was my first time trying Detroit style pizza and I loved the crispy cheese crust! My friend ordered The Hockeytown and she enjoyed it too. She wanted to watch the Colorado Avalanche game and they were very nice to put it on for us. Check them out!

I wasn't the actual person to pick up our order, but that guy is picky and he never said anything derogatory so, That's a good thing but I will say this. It was the best Pizza that I have eaten in literally years. The crust was amazing, It has a just right chewiness to it and not a yeasty taste and not too much "bread". The sauce was GREAT! Not overwhelming and just the right amount. That left room for the toppings, We got all the meats and some veggies, they were all cut into chunks and recognizable, just the way they should be. The whole pie was cooked to perfection! Rec Pizza, where have you been all my life?

Have passed this place multiple times, and decided today was the day to try it-good, but not great. Ordered a small mild boneless wings: good, tender, but the sauce on them was a bit hot- more like a Buffalo Wing sauce, than a mild Wing sauce. We also ordered the cheesy breadsticks: good, crust on them was nice, and crispy. Next we had a Personal White pie: cheese was good, sun dried tomatoes on top gave it an interesting taste. We then ordered a medium Cheese pizza: good, edges were deep and crispy, like a Sicilian type pizza pie, plenty of cheese, and the dollops of sauce had a good taste, and seasoning too. Very easy to order on- line, and when I got there, the order was ready- and nice & hot. This is a good place, but nothing was great, or spectacular about it...

This was the first time I ordered from the Peoria location on 83rd & T-Bird. We had delivery. We got the large Detroiter. WOW! It was delicious! This pie had more pepperoni on it than any other pizza we ever had. Delicious crust and sauce.

Ordered a medium Detroiter. It’s a deep dish pepperoni pizza and it was great. Took half home with me. Can’t wait to have it for breakfast in the morning.

Sometimes I really like the pizza from The Rec and sometimes, like today, not so much. I always order the same thing - The Detroiter and add extra peperoni and sauce. My pizza has plenty of sauce, but not enough cheese and very little peperoni. It appears that the quality may depend on who's working in the kitchen on that day. I don't have to tell you that this is simply not acceptable. I wish I lived closer to Scottsdale since they have a Jet's pizza that I've been anxious to try. Anybody tried a pizza from there yet? Jet's is another Detroit based chain that makes a pizza similar to Buddy's. BTW - I'm from Detroit and love Buddy's and Cloverleaf style pizzas. I had hoped that I would love The Rec too but right now it's a love / hate relationship. If you got anything useful from this review please consider giving me a helpful vote. Thanks!
