I decided to dine in. There are only a few tables so I was lucky to get one. I imagine that it's more of a carry out joint. The guy that waited on me was also handling front counter carry out duties. He was good though. Got me seated, took my order, and checked on me a couple of times. I ordered two of the 1/4 pizza Pepperoni's. It was good. I don't eat Detroit style often so not much to compare it to but the sauce had a zing. The crust was crisp in the edges but soft in the middle. I enjoyed it quite a bit and recommend checking it out.

Loved the patio idea in the back but it needed some work. Felt like someone sort of cleaned their backyard and opened a pizzeria. Needs some decoration or having the plants more groomed then just letting them grow wild. They were busy when we went so had a 15 wait for a table. Restroom unfortunately not clean. Our server was a little behind. Forgot to bring us glasses with ice for our drinks. Forgot to bring us utensils when we got our salad. He was just all over the place. The pizza was absolutely amazing though and the salad was fresh and delicious. Good for a quick bite.

Pizza was delicious and the service was amazing! Our waiter was top notch. We will definitely be back. Love that we could split pizzas in half …two flavor choices in one. That’s a big deal w a family with picky eaters. ❤️ my fav was the burrata marg. Others loved the veggie and also the bbq chicken.

We had a perfect weather day on the back porch. The Detroit style pizza is DELICIOUS. Good beer selection. Plesant service.

Each bite is a luscious treat. They care to fashion a great pissa out of perfect ingredients. You will be compelled to talk about it after.

Not the pizza - the pizza was good - this was the second time I had this pizza and I loved it. This was the first time I ate in the outdoor beer garden- the only place to eat at the restaurant and I will probably never again. The bench like seating was ok- but not comfortable and higher than the chair seating so 1/2 our table was up high the other half down low in the chairs - I can handle that. What I couldn’t handle was the pizza sauce splashed on the back of the bench seating and someone’s old mask also left on the back of the seating in a corner. The place wasn’t terribly busy for a Saturday night therefore clean up especially in these Covid times should’ve been better. But the worst most disgusting thing- that makes me wonder about the cleanliness of this place all together was the following- I ordered a frozen slushie drink - as the ice started melting as I slowly dipped my drink it became apparent that a foreign substance was under the ice - I fished it out and there was a wad of plastic wrap- a large wad twisted up and sitting in the bottom of the glass under the ice - disgusting. The waitress was nice about it and gave us 25 percent off the meal- big deal - I was already disgusted wondering where that plastic had been and what kind of germs I had ingested. I won’t eat there again and I’m not even sure I’ll order pizza there again even though I really liked it before this experience.

My daughter and I are in quest to enjoy all 25 of Chicago Magazine’s new top pizza spots and Union Squared (#4) is an excellent addition. Every bite, the taste and the texture are perfect. Those that work there are genuinely glad you are there and warmly engaged with our pizza enthusiasm. Union Squared is close to home and I’m glad.

Our family, all eight of us, went to Union Squared in Evanston because we saw it on a foodie program some time ago. We finally made it there. It is an hour long drive for us but we had to investigate. When we arrived, we had no idea it was so small. I’d say by city (Chicago) standards, it’s a carryout establishment. But we were able to sit very comfortably along with my handicapable son....surprise! Secondly, I never knew that this type of pizza had a name, but I’ve had it before when Little Caesar’s was this good. THIS PIZZA IS BEYOND GOOD! The crust is awesome! The variations delightful! Service was off the chain....surprise! Third, beverages are canned. Not just sodas, but alcoholic beverages as well....big surprise! Overall, worth the hourlong drive and I’d go again! We ordered four pizzas PLUS took two home! RECOMMENDED!

I’d never had Detroit style pizza so I thought why not. The flavor was good. I like pizza with lots of sauce so that was a plus. The pizza was just too doughy for me.
