It’s quite hard to get a reservation, but after trying it, I feel it’s worth the effort.

It’s no surprise that Fortuna is considered one of the best spots for authentic Italian cuisine in Singapore. Having dined at several renowned Italian restaurants both locally and in Italy, I can confidently say this place truly stands out.

Dined at Fortuna Italian Trattoria & Pizzeria and left feeling it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The pricing is on the higher side — at around $38 SGD for a wood-fired pizza, you expect a premium experience. While the pizza itself was decent, it didn’t justify that price point in terms of quality or overall execution. We had considered ordering pasta, but when we asked staff, we were told it wasn’t made fresh onsite. Interestingly, the maître d’ later contradicted this, which didn’t inspire confidence and suggests a lack of alignment or product knowledge within the team. There were also small service issues that added up. A glass of wine priced at $20 SGD arrived noticeably under-poured and only got topped up after we pointed it out, which shouldn’t be necessary at this level. Overall, it feels more like an overpriced pizza place than a genuinely high-quality Italian trattoria. It’s not a bad meal, but for the price you’d expect better consistency, clarity, and execution.Read more

Dining time was limited to 1.5 hours for our party of three. About 10 minutes before the end of our reservation, we were handed the dessert menu and asked if we would like anything. Barely five seconds into looking at it, the server reminded us that our reservation was ending and that we only had 10 minutes if we wanted dessert, which made the experience feel rather rushed. The bread and pizzas were delicious, and we especially enjoyed the ricotta with honey dip. The calamari, however, was quite average. We also ordered two beers, but they were served in the bottles rather than poured into glasses, while the table next to us had theirs poured and served properly. The seating arrangement was extremely tight, with tables placed less than an arm’s length apart. Conversations across the restaurant became louder as everyone tried to talk over one another. Considering the price point and the casual ambience, the overall experience felt underwhelming, particularly since our party of three was seated at a tiny two-person table. Unfortunately, our table was also positioned right at the narrow walkway bottleneck. Servers bumped into our chair and tripped over the chair leg a few times, which made it quite frustrating to enjoy the meal. While the food was generally good, the overall dining experience fell short, and it’s unlikely we’ll return.Read more

Amazing find! Great food, great service. So happy to of found this restaurant around the corner from our hotel. We ordered arancini for starters, pizza for mains & eggplant. Everything was great. We sat at the high counter watching the pizza chefs, they were efficient, knowledgeable and happy to chat to us. They were letting the waiters know where all the pizza were going.Read more
