  400 Gradi, Kranj (Slovenia) If Italy had an embassy for pizza in Slovenia, it would be called 400 Gradi. This place doesn’t just make pizza — it respects it. The dough is light, airy, and beautifully fermented, with that perfect balance between crisp edges and soft, elastic center. The ingredients taste like they were chosen with obsession rather than convenience: vibrant tomato, high-quality mozzarella, and toppings that actually complement instead of overpower. Every bite feels intentional. What really sets 400 Gradi apart is consistency. Anyone can get lucky once. Here, the quality feels like a standard. You can tell there’s real knowledge of Italian pizza craft behind the oven — temperature, timing, dough handling — everything dialed in. The atmosphere is relaxed and honest, no pretentious “artisanal” theater, just confidence in what they do. Service is friendly, efficient, and lets the food take center stage — which is exactly how it should be. I’ve had pizza in Italy. I’ve had pizza across the Balkans and Western Europe. This is, without exaggeration, the best Italian-style pizza in Slovenia. If you care about what pizza is supposed to be — simple, balanced, technically correct, and deeply satisfying — 400 Gradi is not optional.

  We came here twice for dinner and lunch. Staff serving us very nice and friendly. All smiling! Got pizza which was tasty, a lot of coarse flour on dough and would have liked if dough Had more stretch, but still nice. And two pasta dishes that were great. Would recommend a visit if in Kranj. Very reasonably priced too.

  We had a wonderful experience at this pizzeria! Without a doubt, it was the best pizza we tried in Slovenia. The quality of the ingredients is truly noticeable in every bite, and you can clearly see the excellence of both the products used and the highest-quality oven. The atmosphere is beautiful, welcoming, and very well maintained. The décor, together with the music playing in the background, perfectly recreated that authentic Italian style, making the whole experience feel even more special and genuine. A special compliment goes to the pizzaiolo, whose skill and passion truly make the difference. The dough was perfectly prepared light, flavorful, and beautifully balanced and every pizza was cooked to perfection. You can feel the dedication and expertise behind each dish. Congratulations to the whole team for the passion and care you put into your work. We will definitely be back!

  10/10 across the board! We came here for dinner and it was delicious pizza, creative topping options with some classics, and excellent service.

  This is simply horrible… Let me start by saying that we came to this restaurant after our visit to Lake Bled. Slovenia is a beautiful country with wonderful nature and people, but the visit to this place completely changed my impression of Slovenia. So, upon arriving at the restaurant everything was perfect: friendly staff, nice music, an atmosphere as if you were in a provincial town in Italy — just wonderful. We received our food, which my husband, my two children, and I enjoyed. We ordered two pizzas and gnocchi with ragù for the kids. And then, while we were eating, this… person arrived. Someone who doesn’t seem to recognize the boundary between their own home, where they can do whatever they want, and the most basic ethical values. He came, sat down in such a way that half of his large, hairy crotch was visible. This immediately caused disgust in me and my family. This is unacceptable! Later I heard from my acquaintances that they had also encountered the same problem. We couldn’t even finish our meal — we just paid, left the food unfinished, and walked out. I kindly ask the owners to pay attention to this issue and request that this person behave more appropriately in public places, ESPECIALLY WHEN CHILDREN ARE AROUND, (Another table sitting next to us, who turned out to be a locals, said that this guy there everyday). I understand that these are difficult times for everyone and maybe this person simply doesn’t have proper clothes to wear, but I believe this restaurant is not a place for the homeless.   Very tasty food. The pizzas are the best around, as are the salads. The service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend it.
