  We came here for a birthday dinner in December 2025 and had a really lovely dinner. The inside of the restaurant was elaborately decorated for the holidays with ornaments of all containing from the ceiling. Every single dish that we ordered was excellent, but the squid ink pasta special was probably the best one of them all. The truffle burrata special was also really excellent as an appetizer. The old-fashioned butter cake, and Elle’s famous cheesecake are absolutely both worth ordering for dessert! Our server was very nice and attentive.

  I don’t typically write reviews , but my husband and I have been eating there throughout the years celebrating milestones . This hidden gem has it’s rustic Italian vibes, it’s basically the only restaurant we sit at and eat . It is a must have and if you haven’t a must try located right on the Warwick / Cranston line . There’s always fresh flowers at the tables , the best espresso martinis , and we tried the antipasto which was amazing ( for me it’s the details ) , and the food is phenomenal every time . Plus it’s a small local business. We had our date night Friday and were not disappointed.

  Deserving of 5 stars off of the service alone. Waitress and staff super attentive and knowledgeable of the cuisine. The food and atmosphere were top tier as well. My boyfriend and I frequent Italian restaurants around the region and this place is as good as any. We got the strawberry bruschetta, squash blossoms, truffle pasta, and finished off with the made to order lava cake. Delicious!

  We only stopped by for dessert, but it was absolutely worth it. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere has a nice high-end feel without being pretentious. Highly recommend trying the old-fashioned butter cake, rich, warm, and truly the star of the visit. Would definitely come back just for that!

  This place is awesome. We came here for my birthday in June and loved it so much that we decided to bring back friends for our annual Xmas dinner. The food and drinks are amazing, the ambiance is cool and the service was great. Taylor was our server on Saturday night and it was like having a friend hang out with us. I can't recommend it enough

  My family and I had an 8pm reservation at Basta to celebrate my brother’s engagement. Upon arriving (on time), we were told by the hostess we would have to wait for people finishing up. No apology, no invitation to sit at the bar and she walked away immediately after. We waited and some of the party ended up waiting outside, since we had young children as well. We watched other large parties get seated before, who had reservations after us. The hostess was hardly around and we were provided no updates. My future sister in law voiced her disappointment to one employee who asked if we were the party of 9, then we watched her go over and stand by the server’s station and watch as a table was bussed. We were finally seated after waiting for almost 20 minutes. Our server ended up being the same employee my future sister in law had spoken to and she arrived at our table with again, no apology and didn’t bother giving her name. There was no wine menu at one end of the table and we had to ask for another one, since one wine menu for a table of 9 people wasn’t adequate. Drinks were slow to come out, and we placed our order. We waited quite a while for our starters (the seafood tower and two orders of a dozen oysters). The oysters were brought out all on one plate, even though two separate people ordered them. Thankfully, my young niece was willing to share a plate. There was no horseradish on the oyster dish so we shared the horseradish from the seafood tower. The oysters were essentially flavorless. As someone who grew up in Boston and now lives in Florida, I can say I’ve had better oysters from a tank. The linguine special was absolutely awful as well. The pasta (which was supposed to be handmade and fresh) was doughy and undercooked and the most flavorful part was the sauce, which just tasted sour. The scallops in the dish also had zero flavor. All of the food was served barely room temperature. My father ordered the special as well and his was cold, so he didn’t touch that. My mother also ordered the special and was not impressed. My brother ordered the veal tomahawk which was cold and had mushy breading and was overall not well prepared. My 7yr old nephew’s steak was chewy and he even complained it was not a good steak (and he’s eaten at more upscale places than most adults). The server had no idea who the engagement was for (hint, probably the person wearing the large diamond) and asked my younger sister (not wearing a ring) if it was for her and her boyfriend. The only employees in the entire establishment that had any sense of customer service at all were the busboys who were exceptionally polite and apologetic for everything. Overall this was a massive disappointment and I feel so bad for my future sister in law for having to go through such a poor experience to celebrate her engagement. Hopefully the staff and the kitchen can learn from this so they can provide a better experience for others.

  Today we had our traditional Mother's Day meal at Basta. It's been one of my favorite restaurants for years. The food was absolutely amazing as always. But, the service was subpar. We were given our menus and water and forgotten for close to 15 minutes. Once we placed our orders we were given fabulous, warm and crusty bread, but no dipping oil. After another 15 minutes we asked for more bread and some oil. Our food took an exceptionally long time to arrive. After dinner it is always customary for each lady to receive a small Mother's Day gift. Not from our waiter, although I saw every other lady receive one. It's was just not the usual excellent service that I've been accustomed to over the last 20+ years. Quite disappointing.

  Scallops, and veal chop. Both were to die for. I'm a veal snob, and this was among the best! Scallops the same....no way they had seen any sulfides. Really spectacular in every way.

  Very slow kitchen. Waited over an hour for a pizza....entre was also slow. Food ok. Prices are off the charts

  My wife, sister-in-law and I dined at this restaurant recently. My wife enjoyed her salmon and my sister-in-law enjoyed her veal chop. Unfortunately I could not say the same for my meal. I had the veal saltimbocca which is generally covered with a delicate white wine, lemon and sage sauce. Mine was smothered with very salty, thick brown gravy. It should not have been called saltimbocca. It was accompanied with some arancini which was mushy and unappealing. We had several desserts including a tiramisu. Granted the tiramisu was free for having signed up for their newsletter but, at least all of the essential ingredients should have been there. Ours did not have the ladyfinger base which completely changed the dessert. It was a disappointing dining experience for such a highly rated restaurant.
