A true Neapolitan classic that never disappoints. I had the prosciutto pizza with DOP ingredients —the quality was outstanding. DOP (“Denominazione di Origine Protetta”) means Protected Designation of Origin, guaranteeing that the products come from specific regions in Italy and follow traditional methods. You can taste the difference —every bite was authentic and full of flavor. I also loved seeing a pizza on the menu dedicated to Massimo Bottura, one of Italy’s most celebrated Michelin-starred chefs —such a thoughtful touch. The name Lievito Madre says it all. It refers to the natural sourdough starter used to ferment the dough slowly. Some people know it well, others may not —but it’s what gives the pizza its incredible lightness, texture, and depth of flavor. It’s the difference you feel from the very first bite. I even stepped inside for a moment to watch how they make the pizzas and filmed a quick video —such a special moment to see the tradition and care behind every pie. And of course, the view of the Lungomare and the sea made everything even more magical. And the best part? My daughter, who adores pizza, took one bite and said: “This is the best pizza in the world.” 🍕❤️ Tip: We didn’t wait long at all —everything was smooth and well-organized. We’ll definitely be back!

I see some bad comments about double service charge but i think the place was just amazing, i loved the pizza, the service and everything. Atmosphere and the view was truly incredible. Yeah and the charge for the view can be acceptable.

When I visit a city for the first time, I expect the weather to be nice. It's nobody's fault if it's bad but of course, under a gray sky, everything looks gray... Plus, some cities, like London 🇬🇧, are made for that gray sky, whereas others (well, basically, any city around the Mediterranean 🏖️) are made for a blue sky. So I was quite disappointed by the weather during our visit to Napoli 🇮🇹. The last day was cold ❄️, windy 🌬️ and rainy 🌧️ (not too much, but still). 😞 We still walked along the shore and, when we got hungry, we decided to have lunch in a restaurant close to the sea. Following tips on the web, we chose Gino Sorbillo Lievito Madre al Mare. There was a line but they told us we would have to wait 20 minutes so we stayed cause 20 minute probably was less than what we needed to find another available spot. The thing is they made us wait almost an hour. That is not ok in general but I had been sick for a couple of weeks so I didn't enjoy that moment at all. 😤 What I didn't like either is that, on the whole menu, I could only order 1 thing: a pizza 🍕 marinara 🍅, as everything else had cheese 🧀 in it. I like Marinara but that was my 3rd one in less than 48h so... 😞 The pizza was good though. My wife and son shared a huge mozzarella and pasta e patate (🍝+🥔). They apparently enjoyed the mozzarella but the pasta not so much. The place was pretty nice but kind of cold cause the door wouldn't stop opening. 🥶 The service was ok. As always in Italy 🇮🇹, they charge a fee per guest. This one was more expensive than at other places but ok we're close to the sea. But, at Gino Sorbillo, they automatically charge a 12% tip on top of that fee. And this is unacceptable. We're not in the US 🇺🇲. 😡 So in the end we paid almost €20 each for 1 dish per person, no alcohol, no dessert. That's way too expensive for Italy 🇮🇹. 👎 I would not go back there. Quality & taste: 8/10 Quantities: 10/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Originality: 6/10 Ratio price / quality: 3/10 Service: 5/10 How I felt afterwards: 4/10

What an amazing experience this was. As a gluten intolerant person, finding good pizza is an endless quest riddled with disappointment, but this pizza place came recommended by my Neapolitan friend and truly deserves the reputation it has. The dough was really tasty and neither too hard or too crumbly, but the toppings were next level fresh and bursting with flavour. I had the Margherita Doc with buffalo mozzarella and I think the photo speaks for itself

Wow! This is how to manage customer experience and expectations when faced with huge volumes of hungry customers queuing for the very best in Napoli pizza. We turned up without a reservation, as many clearly also do, but the staff worked tirelessly to make sure customer turnover was quick but not rushed and without rudeness. After we were given a table, the service was quick, and the food was delivered at speed. I had the Napoli pizza and my wife a salad. Both were fantastic and the price represented good value. I would definitely return to Sorbillo.
