Well, this was a very pleasant surprise in Caserta. Amazing food and service. Pizza is excellent in this place. They also do an amazing eggplant parmesan called "Regina Parmigiana," while their fritto all'italiana (called "Fritturina Massa") is absolutely fresh. As to the desserts, we had the "Tartelletta alla banana con girella di lampone e fragole e mousse di arachidi", a sort of fresh tarte with a banana pannacotta layered on top of raspberry and strawberry coulis served with a little of peanut mousse, all of which was outstanding. They also serve good cocktails here. Service is also excellent.

Antica Hostaria Massa delivered one of the best pasta dishes we've ever had. The service was exceptional—despite being short on time, the staff were incredibly kind and served us swiftly without compromising on quality. The restaurant’s interior is stunning, with a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere that left us thoroughly impressed. From the ambiance to the food, everything about this place exceeded our expectations. It’s a true gem for anyone seeking an authentic Italian dining experience. Thank you so much!!!

We were referred to this place by the Hotel Royal Caserta. What a lovely restaurant! 1848!!! Can you believe that? It is a big place with separate rooms plus an outdoor seating setting with a lovely thatched ceiling and trees in the middle, which is heated during winter. Around the trees there is a fence so bugs do not get in. Some walls have old painted tiles and also a firplece. Our waiters were great and helped us with ideas for the menu. Their food was excellent and nothing was over spiced, oily or salty. Their grilled zuchini and eggplant were simple and delicious. We will send our family and friends to eat there when visiting Caserta and hope that if you ever go, you will be pleased with Antica Hosteria Massa dal 1848 justt as we did.

We went there without a reservation on a Sunday and got a table straight away - however we had to stay in the salon and not in the terrace (which is much nicer). Everyone was really nice, the food was good but not incredible
