Relais le Due Matote is one of those places that completely stole my heart. From the moment we arrived, I was taken aback by the sheer beauty of this place. The location is absolutely breathtaking, with views all around that stretch over snow-covered Alps—and on a clear day, you can even see Mont Blanc in the distance. We were lucky enough to visit out of season, which made the whole experience even more magical. For two whole nights, we had the entire property to ourselves, and it felt like we had stumbled upon this hidden treasure. Despite having the place all to ourselves, the staff made us feel like we were being pampered in the best possible way. The hotel itself is stunning—everything is beautifully maintained, clean, and full of character. It’s full of lovely eclectic details and gorgeous antiques, but nothing ever feels overcrowded or cluttered. There’s such a balance to it all, and I immediately felt at home in the cozy, luxurious atmosphere. One of the highlights of our stay was the special dinner the kitchen team arranged for us at the chef’s table. Watching Chef Salvatore and his team work their magic was such a treat. The food was out of this world—each dish was like a piece of art. I’ll never forget Chef Salvatore’s take on pizza fritta with Vitello tonnato—it was such a creative twist on a classic Italian dish, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and you could tell the team was aiming for the stars. Honestly, I think they deserve several Michelin stars! Salvatore, the maitre d’, made us feel so welcome and checked in on us throughout the evening to make sure we were taken care of. It’s those little personal touches that really made the experience feel so special. The final evening, the team set up a gorgeous aperitif for us on the sunny terrace, and it was such a magical moment. Sitting there with a drink in hand, watching the sun set over the hills, I honestly didn’t want it to end. Another unforgettable experience was when Chef Salvatore took us out for a Fiat drive through the rolling hills of Langhe. It was such a fun, once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we got to see the area in such a unique way. It really made me fall in love with the region even more. The rooms at Relais le Due Matote are pure luxury—newly renovated and super comfortable. The little details, like the soft linens and elegant décor, made it feel like such a treat. And I was especially excited to find that the tea served at the hotel is from Fortnum & Mason—someone knows their tea! The reception staff, especially Elia, were so sweet and welcoming, and they made sure everything was perfect. We traveled with our small poodle, and I can’t express how well she was treated—she was totally spoiled, which made us feel even more at home. And let’s not forget the private spa in the wine cellar—it’s such a unique touch! The whole space is so peaceful and beautifully designed, and we spent some time there unwinding, surrounded by the calming atmosphere of the cellar. Overall, Relais le Due Matote is a place I will never forget. It’s a must-visit destination in itself, and the little village it’s in is just as charming, especially when the roses are blooming in June. We can’t wait to return, and I’m already dreaming about our next stay there!

Le Due Matote isn’t just excellent—it’s Michelin star quality in every sense. The food is exquisite, but it’s the staff that made our visit truly exceptional. Their warmth, attentiveness, and seamless service turned a beautiful meal into an unforgettable experience. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates top-tier dining delivered with genuine care.

If I could give this amazing hotel 10 stars, I would! This is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. The grounds and gardens are impressive and we enjoyed the view everyday. The restaurant and pizzeria were both terrific, the food in each absolutely delicious. But more importantly, the staff makes this hotel extra special. Fabiola at the front desk is one of the most impressive. She curated a perfect itinerary for our stay, arranging truffle hunting, reservations, etc. The wait staff is equally fantastic, they treated us with great care. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return in the future.

We stayed at Le due Matote - a 17th-century farmhouse beautifully transformed into a hotel just three years ago. The owner has truly poured her heart into this place. Every detail of the interior has been chosen with love. All the furniture is antique. We even slept in a bed where Napoleon himself once slept. The hotel staff treated us like family. I want to give special thanks to Roberto and Elisa for making our stay absolutely perfect. This was the best holiday we’ve ever had. The hotel has an incredibly beautiful spa, and the spa therapist, Analisa, is simply wonderful. The gourmet restaurant truly deserves a Michelin stars✨- I hope you receive it soon. Chef Luca is a star himself. His sense of flavor and balance is unmatched. Sabrina and Salvatore are also outstanding professionals. The hotel grounds include a chicken coop and gardens where flowers and vegetables are grown and later used in the kitchen. It’s paradise. The view of the mountains and the fresh air - you just want to breathe it all in and never stop. A special thank you to the sommelier Antonio, who selected the perfect wines for us and as gifts for our friends. I wish your hotel prosperity and success! You deserve every possible award. P.S. I want to celebrate my wedding at this gorgeous place!
