Today I want to take you with me to an authentic corner of Milan, where time seems to have stopped and the scent of tradition mixes with the vibrant energy of the city. I’m talking about the Pizzaría di Porta Garibaldi, a real institution in the beating heart of the Lombard capital. It’s not just a pizzeria: it’s a place that tells stories, that keeps flavors and that welcomes every customer as if they were part of the family. As soon as you cross the threshold, you are enveloped by a warm and genuine atmosphere, made of dark wood, black and white photographs on the walls and a wood-burning oven that burns like a living heart in the center of the place. Here pizza is not just a dish: it is a ritual, an art handed down from generations. The dough, leavened with patience and respect for the times, is light and fragrant, while the ingredients tell the whole of Italy, from buffalo mozzarella from Campania to San Marzano tomato, to extra virgin olive oil from the Tuscan hills. But what makes the Pizzaría di Porta Garibaldi really special is not only the excellent quality of its products. It’s the soul that can be breathed in every corner, it’s the passion that shines through every gesture of the pizza maker, it’s the sincere smile of the staff that welcomes you like an old friend. It is the place where Milanese and tourists meet, where the chatter is intertwined with the tinkling of the glasses and the scent of freshly baked pizza. In a fast-paced world, this pizzeria is a haven of authenticity. It is proof that, even in the heart of a modern metropolis, there is still room for tradition, for attention to detail, for true taste. So, if you are in Milan and want to live an experience that smells of home, history and passion, you can’t help but stop at the Pizzeria in Porta Garibaldi. Because here, every bite is a journey.

Gnocchi with bolognese sauce and red wine were good! However, be aware that the steaks are thin and too oily.

Their pizza's are surely good as name suggests, while the other dishes are debatable. We tried veg lasagna and literally it was uneatable. The outside seating is really beautiful but you'd expect lots of mosquitos. They could install the anti-mosquito devices as many other same scale restaurants have in the Milan. Service was okay except that they forgot to bring the orange juice we ordered, they were pretty busy though!

For our last meal in Milan, we went to this restaurant which looked cozy and nice. We had to leave in one hour to catch our flight in time. After 30 minutes, all the gusts who arrived later than us, were hosted and got their food, but we were still waiting for them to set our table up. We decided to leave but the staff told us that he’s forgotten to pass our order to the kitchen and will sort it out quickly. That was super disappointing and we stressed a lot. The pizza was tasty but the pasta, very average. Unfortunately not a good experience before wrapping up our vacation.
