The Acropolis is an exposed hilltop archaeological site, not the Acropolis Museum below it. Its fifth-century BCE monuments include the Parthenon, built from 447 to 432 BCE, and the ensemble has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987.

The climb runs over uneven, polished stone with little shade. Timed entry, crowds, heat, and the uphill route make 90 minutes to two hours a realistic planning window. Water, grip underfoot, and breathing room after the ticket slot matter more than squeezing in a tight lunch reservation.

The southeast entrance feeds naturally toward Dionysiou Areopagitou, Makrygianni, and Koukaki. The west entrance points toward Areopagus and Thissio, with Monastiraki beyond; circling north brings you toward Plaka. These are different food routes, not interchangeable dots around the hill.

Ovio, Ma Che Vuoi, and Odori form the current nearby set on our map. Choose by descent and next destination. The terraces with the loudest Acropolis view are not automatically the rooms paying closest attention to dough.
