I had a delicious pizza here with high-quality ingredients. It’s great to see something different from the usual classics. The interior was beautiful, the atmosphere cozy, and the staff friendly - highly recommended! 🍕

It was simply wonderful! The vibe was amazing and the pizza was outstanding! We ate pizza and a salad and EVERYTHING was delicious! The service was great and even if there weren't many options for drinks, the meal was magnificent!! We had fun and we enjoyed ourselves! The prices are very reasonable for how well we ate!

Lovely spot with delicious pizza, cold beer, and quick service. Be sure to make a reservation. We were lucky to get a table. They turned many people away.

Stumbled upon this modern gem and I’m so glad I did. I’d seen a review claiming it was the best pizza they’d ever had, which honestly made me a little doubtful. But I have to say, after my visit, I can wholeheartedly back it up. The pizza is fantastic. Don’t hesitate, just go!

My husband and I were in Matera for 3 nights. After walking up and down the steps of the city for several hours we decided to have an early dinner. PiuSud is one of the restaurants in our hotel so we decided to give it a try. We were greeted by a friendly young woman who sat us at the table of our choice inside as we wanted to avoid the cigarette smoke. I should mention we’re Americans. She told us to use their WiFi to access the menu thru the QR code at the table. We did and were able to get the English version. My husband ordered the spicy pizza which is more like pepperoni and I had the one that had mozzarella, hand sliced salami, arugula and mushrooms. My pizza didn’t have any sauce which was a surprise to me but, a very nice one! These are pretty large individual pizzas however we were both able to eat almost the entire pizza. The crust is soft and very good, don’t be put off if it’s a bit charred. We had several of the employees check on us and make sure we liked our pizza and didn’t need anything else. If you’re in Matera and down where PiuSud is located stop in for a Pizza!

Extremely disappointing experience at the pizzeria attached to the Sant’Angelo Hotel in Matera, especially considering the hotel’s five-star reputation. We ordered two glasses of Greco wine (€7 each), but were served Chardonnay instead. When we politely pointed out the mistake and asked for the wine we had actually ordered, the waitress insisted that we would have to pay for the incorrect glasses as well, despite the error being theirs. To make matters worse, I had to ask four times for the correct wine and eventually got up from the table to find the waitress myself and ask a fifth time. She explained that she was working alone, but by the time the wine and the bread that should have accompanied our meal finally arrived, everyone else around us had long since finished eating. The wine portions were incredibly small, especially for the price charged, and the overall level of service was among the poorest I have experienced in years. The food itself was acceptable, but the entire experience fell far short of what one would expect from an establishment associated with a five-star hotel. Sadly, what should have been a memorable lunch in beautiful Matera turned out to be a thoroughly underwhelming experience

Top pizzeria in Matera! A nice setting hidden in the streets of Matera. Service OK, but on a hot day reserve an inside table. They only serve small beers (200 cl) and water you get in plastic cups.
