Grotto Pizzeria isn't just serving pizza; they're crafting edible art. They elevate the humble pizza to a sensory experience, a "poem of flavors and colors," and it shows in every bite. They clearly understand that quality ingredients are the foundation for something truly special, and they've built a menu around that principle. We navigated the (slightly challenging) location in Florence, Italy to find Grotto Pizzeria, and let me tell you, the effort was absolutely worth it. We opted for the Carbonara 2.0, and it was, simply put, on point. The execution was flawless, delivering that classic Carbonara flavor profile in a pizza form that felt both innovative and comforting. Grotto Pizzeria feels like a hidden gem, a place where passion and dedication to quality shine through. If you're looking for a pizza experience that transcends the ordinary and delivers a memorable culinary adventure, this is the place to be. Just be prepared to hunt for it - you won't regret the search! Highly recommended.

They brag that they have the best pizza in Florence and they are not kidding it was a great pizza. Many of the choices are combinations I've never even thought of but they work perfectly. This is definitely a place you should seek out if you're in Florence for the best pizza they do have one in the center of town but if you're on the outskirts of the city this is also a second location which is outstanding. You may want to try and call ahead and see if you can get a reservation I did not mind standing outside and drinking a couple of beers waiting for my slot to be called and be seated but if you want to make sure that you can arrive and eat immediately call ahead for a reservation.

5€ starter is a no-brainer, completely awesome. But, when it came to the main course, I got the wrong pizza for me. There are so many amazing choices and at the last minute I changed my mind, and I regretted it. Should have gone with my instinct. My pizza had way too much tomato sauce for my liking, but ALL the pizzas are just beautiful and it’s obvious to even the untrained eye that the crusts are absolute perfection. I’m definitely going back! And don’t forget the dessert! They’re worth trying too. Super friendly and attentive service.

Absolutely delicious pizza! The dessert was spectacular as well. The best part was our waiter, he was kind to explain the menu in English and accommodate to any dietary restrictions.

Neapolitan pizza to perfection, perfectly leavened and seasoned with high quality ingredients. From every detail you can understand why this pizzeria got the maximum score (three segments) from Gambero Rosso. If you happen to be there at Easter or Christmas, do not miss the pastiera, casatiello, colomba and panettone that reveal the art of Marco Manzi, the great master of Neapolitan pizza and pastry.Read more
